This B team stuff is a good idea I think. It wides the pool of players that are exposed to NT type conditions. The competition is not as tough as facing a good A team, but its a chance for those on the bubble to make an impact and perhaps sneak onto the back of the subs bench. Actually this will be the second game in 3-4 weeks for the B team, if you include the friendly match v. Estonia, the one difference will be the fact that this one doesn't count towards the FIFA rankings. I think anyways, could be wrong.
Poland B Squad for the match v. Scotland B on the 6th of December, 2005. Selected by Poland B coach Edward Klejndinst, in consultation with NT coach Pawel Janas. Goalkeepers: Łukasz Fabiański (Legia Warszawa), Sebastian Przyrowski (Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski). Defensemen: Marcin Kuś (Lech Poznan), Robert Kłos (Zagłębie Lubin), Paweł Magdoń (Pogoń Szczecin), Jarosław Bieniuk (Amica Wronki), Dariusz Dudka (Wisła Kraków). Midfielders: Wojciech Łobodziński, Maciej Iwański (both Zagłębie Lubin), Jakub Błaszczykowski (Wisła Kraków), Maciej Scherfchen (Lech Poznan), Piotr Giza (Cracovia), Rafał Grzelak (Pogoń Szczecin), Marcin Kaczmarek (Korona Kielce). Forwards: Grzegorz Piechna (Korona Kielce), Ireneusz Jeleń (Wisła Płock), Paweł Brożek (Wisła Kraków).
All of the Poland B players are from the domestic league because this is not an official FIFA or UEFA scheduled intenational term so foreign based players can be blocked from participating by their clubs. Anyways here is the Scotland B Squad. Goalkeepers: Alan Combe (Kilmarnock FC), David Marshall (Celtic FC). Defensemen: Christophe Berra (Heart of Midlothian FC), Gordon Greer (Kilmarnock FC), Garry Hay (Kilmarnock FC), Robbie Neilson (Heart of Midlothian FC), Adam Virgo (Celtic FC). Midfielders: Ross Wallace (Celtic FC), Barry Robson (Dundee United FC), Brian Kerr (Motherwell FC), Gary McDonald (Kilmarnock FC), Tommy Miller (Sunderland AFC), Nick Montgomery (Sheffield United FC). Forwards: Gary Teale (Wigan Athletic FC), Kris Boyd (Kilmarnock FC), Darryl Duffy (Falkirk FC), Lee Miller (Dundee United FC).
Gary Teale played for Wigan in their win over Newcastle the other night, he was a regular last season but has mainly been on the bench this season. Tommy Miller is a regular for Premeirship bottom club Sunderland since moving from Ipswich last season. Kris Boyd is the top scorer in the SPL this season. Nick Montgomery is a regular at Championship side Sheffield Utd. They're probably the players to look out for in this game, I know I will be, I don't know alot about Tommy Miller or Nick Montgomery (apart from they're english by birth). I am interested to see how Boyd gets on and I haven't seen Teale play since he was at Ayr Utd and before that at Clydebank. I surprised at some of the players in the squad, like Berra, Virgo and Robson and that guys like McManus (a regular at Celtic but never capped), Diamond (very good young player at Aberdeen) and Kevin Thomson at Hibs aren't there. There's no Hibs or Aberdeen players so many those clubs struck a deal to not have their players released to go. It's no surprise the game is at Kilmarnock and there's 5 of their players in the squad. I would've went to the game as it's just a few miles along the road from me but Morton are playing that night so i'll be there watching them.
Additions to the Poland B Squad: Grzegorz Bonin (Korona Kielce) Marcin Burkhardt (Legia Warszawa) for Przemysław Kaźmierczak (Pogon Szczecin).

What this result shows is that we have no decent "B" team to speak of. Even guys that are somewhat close to the "A" team, such as Brozek, Piechna, Jelen, Dudka, Blaszczykowski or Fabianski are not good enough to go to Germany, even if only as subs. Strange, some of these guys were on our team that played Mexico to a draw in the US this year...but at least there our defense was stronger, and we had a class goalkeeper in Boruc. Has anyone watched this game?
I didnt see it, but I don't think Janas and the B coach were really caring for the result here, judging by all the substitutions and formation changes. I think Janas just wanted to see some players and thats it. Too bad though
