We beat Wigan in that make-up and we're only 7 points behind. Season not over by a longshot.

    My MOM: Alan Smith. :D

He really showed the necessary stuff in the midfield today.

Here's to hoping this match has the effect to Chelsea as it did to Arsenal.

Great job to our guys. But it would be great for this to actually translate into some momentum. Last season after beating Arsenal, we went out and lost to Portsmouth and drew with Citeh.

Of course that loss to Pompey was our last one for over five months, so we'll see.

I agree. Initially I was for CR, but Smudger was massive.

How about a Ballack-Smith partnership in midfield, ehhhh? ;) :D

Seconded. Can always rely on the mancs to bring an unbeaten run to a crashing halt.

Hurrah for Manchester Red and White Sox. Er United. :p

Wow. Just wow. One week, annihilated by Boro. Then this week, United beat Chelsea.

    Strange game, isn't it?

If we play with that level of HEART all season long we will be alright. It is no good getting UP for the big teams and doing ******** all at teams we expect(and the players get complacent) to beat.

I want to see that level of desire and passion all season... not just against Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Citeh.

So, was I the only one who predicted the win for United and got it right? :D

It seems that the first half United disappeared in the second half, but no matter, 3 points it is!!

My heart couldn't have taken one more minute.

I'm so stoked right now ...

    MoM .... Smith & VDS

It says volumes to see that the team showed the heart that they did and that Chelski isn't invulnerable.

    United!!!United!!!United!!!United!!!

    YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Wow does this win feel great! And was it ever needed!

Hopefully this will spring United from its doldrums and put the fire in the players for every game.

The Chelsea message board has been going with the idea that the referee is giving them no protection, and that "the better team lost at Old Trafford today". Were they watching the same match?

I don't think they'll capitulate tbh. but it now gives other teams who play them hope. They'll all have been watching that and see that Wigan and ourselves...working hard all game.. put Chelsea off their tstride and proved they can be flustered.

Chelsea's players are going to tire if they have that kind of WAR every single game and keep playing that same defence over and over again.

Apparently they must think that the first 45 minutes is just practice.

BTW, anyone else love that "Triple slide tackle" by Smith in the midfield? He slide tackles, gets up, slide tackles again, gets up, then slide tackles YET AGAIN! What tenacity... gotta love it!

Alrite, guys, as I said, I forgive every bad result and bad game this season after this victory. And whatever happens, I won't say a bad word about Fergie this season.
Those are the games worth suffering for.

    Thank you Manchester United.
