Don't get too cocky. Angola just got lucky plain and simple. Too bad they are going to get disgraced at the WC in Germany. I bet you Angola isn't going to win a single match come WC 2006. Mark my words.
While it will seem strange not to have either Cameroon or Nigeria at the WC next year, the inclusion of Angola and Togo and Cote D'Ivoire will only help the overall game on the continent. They will go in fearless as they have nothing to lose; so little is expected of them. As was Senegal. As for Eagles and the Indom. Lions, they have only theirselves to blame.
Congratulations to Angola! I hope to get a shirt with the crazy red yellow and black. Sorry Nigeria, you'll be back but I'm glad you're sitting this one out. This is karmic punishment for all the financial scamming spam that comes out over the internet from your country!!!!
Hi, does anyone know who the player 'Joaquin' who played for Angola v Nigeria is? It was his only WC appearance and he is an unlisted player on www.national-football-teams.com FIFA official website often lists people by wrong names - is Joaquin another name of one of the Angolan NT regulars. Also anyone know of a good site for Angolan football news?
The two best sites I know for Angolan football news are in Portuguese: www.jornaldeangola.com (daily newspaper) www.jornaldosdesportos.com (sports newspaper, updated every few days)
Still unofficial but Japanese press reports this week that Angola will play Japan in a friendly on November 16.
The player listed as "Joaquin" in the FIFA report is Miloy, a midfielder who plays for GD Interclube Luanda.

A regular poster of the Portugal boards by the name of ChopSoccerdude owns a store in the states and has created an online shop and he has gotten some Angola jerseys http://www.hookedonsoccer.com/store/index.php?cPath=23_120&osCsid=e324714b86d43cea036859b1d743ea37
More trouble for Angola. Earlier this year central defender Kali was suspended for doping, and now starting left back Yamba Asha of local club AS Aviaçao has apparently failed a doping test from the Rwanda-Angola game. Article here: http://www.jornaldosdesportos.com/noticias/futenacional.htm (second article on the page, in Portuguese--link should be live for only a couple of days)
Friendly played on Wednesday, November 16: Japan 1:0 Angola According to the Angola papers, however, the team played very well, even though they were missing half their starters.
here is the highlight of the match Japan vs. Angola http://www.casemanager.or.kr/file/free_board/20110Japan-Angola-H.wmv
Thanx Chino!! Wut a great vid...Japan dominated the 1st half but in the second Angola put up a decent fight. It's important to note that Angola was playing without half their starters: no Gilberto, Andre, Yamba Asha, Mantorras, or Lebo-Lebo. But still the Angolans put up a gd fight.
how is tha best player in angola team now !! i just know akwa because he play many years in saudi arabia and go to qatar ..
Hey everyone, For all the Angola soccer fans out there, I did make complete video files for the Japan-Angola match earlier this week. But, if you want to download them, just Private Message me with an e-mail address that I can send the files to, and I'll send the video links to you guys. The Big Soccer guru's won't let me post "full game" video links on the forums or in Private Messageing due to "copyright laws". So this is my way around it. I PROMISE NOT TO USE THE E-MAIL ADDRESSES FOR ANYTHING ELSE, EXCEPT FOR JUST SENDING THE VIDEO LINKS. Enjoy if you want. VN
Yamba Asha now officially suspended for 30 days pending second sample testing: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/4452298.stm
Hi, Was anyone able to provide that guy with details of the Angolan squad for his magazine profiles? I am doing something similar- and am struggling to find all the necessary details. Is there anyone out there who can help provide date of birth, heights, weights of the players? Many thanks, Dan
Starting central defender Kali (Barreirense, 2d division Portugal) has had his doping suspension reduced from 9 months to 6, and will thus be eligible to play in the Nations Cup.
