Please e-mail me ggayle (at) pipeline (dot) com if you are interested in playing in this game. I want to get a roster list together. Please e-mail me the following info (with the subject line "Supporters Game"):

    Name
    e-mail address
phone number (cell preferred since I might have to reach you in Dallas)
    preferred position (that's soccer position)

As details of the game get announced we can put them here. Drum'r Boy, I'm assuming this will be a co-ed game?

    Guy

p.s. I got my first volunteer last night at the Club Quake End of Year party. :D
p.p.s. I'm gonna try like hell to play in this game (especially after organizing then missing the US/Wales fan friendly with the flu), but obviously my toe will make the final decision there. If I do, central defender is mine (for as long as stamina will allow...maybe 5 minutes).

I could post a photo of what my big toe looked like after it was stitched back together...

...but I don't wanna have pay for people's monitors after they blow their chunks. :)

Have you talked to Craig Waibel or Johnny Moore? We could use a few ringers.

I'd blow chunks if you posted a pic of your other 9 good toes. Ronnie Lott would have cut that toe off if it were a bother. Suck it up!

Waibelinho wouldn't be ready for a game at this point, plus I wouldn't want an active player out there where someone might want to "prove" themselves.

Who is this Johnny you speak of? Is he any good? ;)

The rehab to learn how to play soccer with 9 toes would have taken me past November. If I'd lost a thumb, I'd have gotten the Hejduk Hand Club and gotten my ass out there.

So woof ticket seller, you gonna reveal yourself by playing in this game?

Good Lord. I haven't played an organized game since freshmen year intermurals. I'll have to get back to you on playing. Depends on if I get to running soon.

Believe me, there aren't many of us who are gonna have a lot of soccer stamina. That's why I want to have a lot of people.

    for everyone:
Even if you're on the fence, please send me your info.

If the US/Scotland game is scheduled for 10 am Central Time (Dallas is Central Time, right?), then it would be smack dab in the middle of the tourny. If so, I'll probably skip playing to watch the Yanks, but I'll still be happy to organize the local folks going.

    Some transportation updates!

    AIRPORT-TO-HOTEL

If you are not renting a car...make a shuttle reservation now! (online or via phone). Shuttles are about half the rate of Taxi's from the airport.

    Supershuttle
    1-800-BLUE-VAN (1-800-258-3826)
    Rates: Approximately $32-35
(additional passengers to same location get a discount)

Parties of 5-10 people can reserve an "Exclusive Van" that holds up to 10 people for a flat rate total of $80 + $1 per person fuel surchage (plus tip of course!)

    HOTEL SHUTTLES TO PHP

We contacted the following hotels and found that all of them have a shuttle available on a first com basis in a five mile radius of the hotel. The ones slightly further than 5 miles said that it was likely to be ok to take people to PHP, folks just need to ask the concierge ahead of time and 'reserve' a time.

Hampton Inn & Suites Frisco 4.4 mi
    Embassy Suites 4.5 mi
    Holiday Inn Express 4.6 mi
Marriott Plano at Legacy Park 5.8 mi
    Westin Frisco 6.1 mi
    Courtyard Plano Legacy 6.2 mi

    TAXI in Frisco

Also, people wanting to arrange for rides via Taxi can do so, but will have to call one of the taxi services ahead of time to arrange for a taxi. (it can take UP TO AN HOUR for a taxi to arrive).

Have we figured out if they are going to have tickets to the Gala awards ceremony available to the public?

They will not be having the Gala Awards as they have in the past. They will be having the awards for the Best XII and that's pretty much it. It is a black tie affair with tickets going for $200 a pop.
