Have I arrived too late to join in this discussion?

In any case, I'd just like to thank you on behalf of the entire population of England for saving our 'asses' (although why you chose to focus on that particular portion of our anatomy is probably best kept to yourselves). After we lost the Battle of Britain and Germany had successfully destroyed our Navy and invaded us it looked like we were done for. But credit where it's due, the good old US of A turned up to liberate our island from occupation and thankfully save us from those nasty, oppressive Germans.

By the way, if you can actually find some evidence that it is accepted AROUND THE WORLD that the US saved Britain, then I'd like to see it. The rest of the world isn't as pig-ignorant as you, thank christ .

When you start off with a lie, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the post.

    So you're not just a twat, you're a glory-hunting twat. Well done.

It's always difficult to make an historical arguement with somebody who obviously uses Steven Spielberg as their main source of reference and if I was you I wouldn't bother just leave him to wallow in his small town American bliss and just be glad that he has never and never intends to leave it.

I didn't follow that discussion from the begining, so I was trying to understand as to why someone was claiming that Argentina saved UK by sending planes and stuff! ;)

You think Santana and Milito are crap? I've liked Santana every time he's played for Argentina and he's having a great start of the season in Serie A, D Milito is playing well and scoring in La Liga.

    Playing for the NT, yes.

Milito is better, actually his performance has improved the more times he's played for Argentina. But I wouldn't consider him first, or even second pick. Santana? c'mon.. he was useless during Confed Cup. I don't see what others see in him... guarantee you he will be forgotten in two years time.

From what I've seen from Santana, I think he's a good player. I think he deserves more of a shot than Kily. Some of these guys, it's like come on, their time is up.

I don't know why so many are so quick to dismiss our older players and put in younger talent that in my eyes has done little to warrant a spot. Yes it is nice to think of the future but the WC is only months away and a victory is what we want right???? I think Veron, Cruz, Sorin, and even Kily should all be given a serious look at again especially after the lack luster performances of some of our young guns in recent matches.... I mean come on Cruz has been deadly for Inter lately and Veron has been one heck of a smooth commander in the middle of the field. I would like to see more of Demichelis as well and give Rodriguez a shot as well. Age and experience are not a bad thing at all.

Just read that SGE announced that he was considering this match as a great occasion to fine tune his team before the WC and that their best players will be there. Hope he is not bluffing and that Pekerman will do the same.

The stadium is now full, so they should not disappoint us with B teams :D

I expect plenty of minor hamstring injuries come the middle of November.

The scheduling of this game is odd for more than one reason.

Wow... this lineup looks very interesting... wonder what the starters will be?

    Abbondanzieri
    Coloccini, Ayala, Zanetti
    Sorín, Rodríguez, Demichelis, Bilos
    Riquelme,
    Cruz, Tevez

    ???

Kind of want Crespo and Messi to sit on the bench for this game.. I don't think Crespo has been performing up to par... and Messi is too young for a game like this..

Ye, now this looks like a great squad with a few more additions.

I hope Pekerman plays a 4-4-2: Abbondanzieri, Zanetti, Ayala, Milito, Sorin, DeMichelis, Bilos, Riquelme, Rodriguez, Tevez, Cruz as the starters.

Waah, great! That's most of the team that should make it to WC06, if you don't count the replacements for some injured players.

I am very relieved that Pekerman didn't send a B team. As SGE is also bringing his best players, we are heading to a dream match!

I miss Aimar's name, but otherwise an interesting list. Well, don't really think Placente belongs there but with Heinze injured...

I miss Aimar too, but he really is not his former self.... there is still time. I think Quiroga or Rodrigues should have been called... Placente is not even 50% of what he was 5 years ago.

Re: Argentina vs England , Nov 12 [R]

Just realized that Messi will not be allowed to play against England, because of the ridiculous red card he received on his last friendly. And Barcelona want him on the day we play Qatar as well.

That's really a shame, when we are trying to build a solid attack before WC...

Good luck to Argentina on the 12th. Here are some of Scotlands favourite songs that may be of use to you.

"You put your left hand up
    Your left hand down
Up, down, up, down you shake it all about
You do the Maradona and you turn around
He put the E*****h out out out!

    Oh Diego Maradona,
    Oh Diego Maradona,
Oh Diego Maradona he put the E*****h out out out."

    Another favourite is (same tune)

    "He puts his make-up on
    His sarong on
Becham is a tranny and he should be called Yvonne
He wears his wifes knickers about the house
    Bechams coming OUT, OUT, OUT!

    Oh Becham is a tranny
    Bet he's even got a fa**y
    Even Brouklyn calls him mammy
    Bechams coming OUT, OUT, OUT!".

    Enjoy! :)
