You would lose your bet. Consider the attention paid to Jack Nicholson, Dianne Cannon and Spike Lee when they show up at an NBA game.
Drew has been a LA Galaxy fan for a while. Also he was in TNT for the USMNT WCQ at the beginning of qualifying. ESPN showed him in the stands in TNT. Also Drew has "supposedly" bought beer for the LA Riot Squad supporters club.
Least we not forget Andrew Shue from Melrose Place? Oh yeah he actually sat the bench for the Galaxy the first year of MLS. Played like 10 minutes all season and then got hurt playing against El Sal in an exhibition and never game back. Hell if I was playing kissie kissie with Heather Lockear on TV, I'd give up my soccer career!
Bollocks guys! What does it matter whether someone's a Eurosnob or not? Interest in the game breeds interest in the game. FFS, I'm a limey but my second team is in MLS.
not sure if this was posted yet. But Spike Lee is a season ticket holder for Inter Milan and loves their black and blue strips of their uniform.
ozzie guillen wears a personalized fire jersey under his uniform. He says it brings him good luck and growing up in venezuela made him a soccer fan.

This is why I love soccer, you're playing in an ordinary league that anybody with a few free hours on a saturday can join and you might get to play a movie star. I somehow doubt Tom Cruise is playing hoops at the local LA Fitness. Also Jon Stewart constantly gives soccer props on his show. He covered the Maradona quote today and turned it into a goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooal call.
people may question why it matters that there are celebrity fans of soccer, but i think that it honestly is important. public opinion is swayed so strongly by the thoughts, actions, and words of celebrities; and it would honestly be a big deal if major celebrities were outspoken soccer supporters. think about how during the nba finals, world series, super bowl, etc. they constantly show the celebrities that are attending the events. even on sportscenter highlights they will occasionally show notable people in attendence of a game. it could only help the popularity of the sport if there were celebrities to be seen in the stands during mls matches, celebrities that would publicly recount experiences they had attending soccer matches in europe, or celebrities that talked openly through major media outlets about their love for the sport.
Iron Mike Tyson was on Diego Maradona's show last week and walked away with an autographed jersey. He later walked around Brazil with it ... http://www.ole.clarin.com/jsp/v4/pagina.jsp?pagId=1088215 (spanish)
Mike Tyson is always on TV with soccer jerseys. I have seen him in Real Madrid, Brazil, and Manchester United jerseys. He recently said he wanted to talk to Wayne Rooney because he was worried about him. He then said he watched a lot of Manchester United games and Rooney was one of his favorites.
