A few weeks ago after our home debacle to the Fire, I think my support for the G's was at an all time low, and I was finding it easy to ignore the team and not get very excited about MLS at all.

Now Herc is on a tear, we won the Open Cup, and we look to have at least a slight bit of momentum heading into the playoffs.

The love and desire is back, let's just hope we can keep it up for a few more weeks and cause some damage in the playoffs.

I kind of panicked last night when I realised that we have one regular season game left against San Jose Filth before it's time for the play-offs

If they beat us(which I predict they wont) it could wreck our momentum.

How about the fact that our next game is 10/15. 2 weeks from now! ******** well we are a bit banged up so it gives Nags, LD and others to heal up for our playoff push.

Go Galaxy! At last night's game, they finally asked the trivia question to a true fan -a woman decked out in Galaxy t-shirt and scarf. She, of course, nailed the answer (C4L) and I knew then the team couldn't lose.

    Thanks, Mom! ;)

Have we actually found a lineup that works!?! Jeez, who would have thought that a stable lineup would bolster success?

I really like Ned on the field, when LD comes back though its back to the bench for Ned though. Unless Shite4Life gets benched. Its what I pray for every night. :) Now 2 weeks of practice with Herc and Alan as our top 2 and we are set into the playoffs.

Well apparently since i'm now a Chelsea supporter.

I guess the season ticket, all those nights staying up until 3 am for the past 3 years in London to watch the games makes me a dick for saying the team was driving me insane for being driven into the ground.

Since every else agress, i'm out.

    Somebody found their soap box.

Just an observation...some folks support a team in their own individual way. The fact that you don't think that rates is frankly...irrelevant.

The Galaxy and every other MLS team need fans, not just the hard core, through thick and thin types. Maybe when LARS can consistently fill section 138 and beyond you can look down your nose at other fans. Right now...ain't happening...not even close.

Don't flounce off, profiled, only two posts after iamthatiam's post, and neither really seemed to be agreeing with him...I wouldn't say that "every[one] else agrees" at all.

I know where you're coming from--it's hard to support a crap team. When you do, it feels like you're a masochist. But like you said, things look like they're starting to turn around...let's keep up the good energy (and the good spirits around here...no need for arguing with each other!)

Oh, dude we had such a nice feng-shui moving in these boards with virtually all negative energy streaming to the Sampson thread and you had to go and screw it up. :p

In all seriousness, I would like to echo Anteater FC. I grew up near Hamburg and HSV is finally starting to come around again. Was I enthused over the last fifteen years? Nope, not really. Basically wondering how bad the team was going to do and hoping to stay out of relegation. Am I stoked that they are up and chasing Bayern this year? You betcha.

Nordkurve in Hamburg used to be what 138 is to us. The exception being that the supporters there numbered ten thousand on a slow day. But to make money the team had to rely on the families and such that bought the other 40,000 seats.

AYSO outnumbers LARS on any given day. LARS is the athmosphere that the players draw from and that some fans (myself included) love. I for one would love to see a stadium filled with 26990 hardcore Galaxy fans and ten (insert opposing team) fans. Until that happens, I am grateful for all the others for it is they who support and feed our club in larger numbers that all the die-hards put together. Once we number in the thousands and actually fill an entire side of the stadium, we will be in a position to talk smack to the more casual fan out there.

To top it off, I think you were slightly out of line in questioning the posters love for the team.

    Just my .02 cents.

Don't worry, profiled. I'm a part-time supporter supporter in that I only attend matches part of the time. Otherwise I'm watching them on TV & getting all the news I can. Supporting this team is like having friends--sometimes they do things to piss you off that you hate 'em for it & avoid them but when you have a good time with them, their bad habits are overlooked & you wonder what you'd do without them.

If a couple posts on the internet is all it took for you to abandon the team then you were'nt much of a fan to begin with.

have fun winning the epl this year.

    and the rest of you:

I didn't say anything about lars or the manner in which profiled chooses to support the team. I didn't say that families and soccer moms and ayso kids have no place here.

I am questioning his loyalty. every team goes through rough patches and every team loses games.if you can't deal with that fact of life then maybe you shouldn't be a sports fan at all.

I cheer for the team whether we suck or not, but it is always much much more fun, of course, to be winning at the same time. :D

Who appointed you to be the fan police? Honest question. The guy had some misgivings about the team and wasn't particularly enthused to watch them play. BFD. People that post on Big Soccer don't tow the party line as much as they do on the LARS board, so opinions that may differ from yours are OK here.

Yeah, but if you really are from LARS, that "Why, You're Sexy!" chant is getting really old.

And I don't understand why you do it whenever Steve Sampson walks by. I personally don't see the appeal at all.

    fine. misgivings are one thing.

saying you don't care about the team unless they are winning is another.

I think that's a fvcked attitude to have, so I posted something to that effect.

and now you and I have a difference of opinion.

If my opinion is upsetting you then put me on your ignore list.

Damn right J-man, there is no need for all this aggrovation, and to question peoples loyalty is not on. Calm down.

I watched every Galaxy game through the troubled times this season, and I agree with him, it was hard and painful to watch the team. If you were in the stadium, it takes courage to get up and walk out, if your online, all you have to do is close the window, but I never did this and I dont think he did either. Maybe it's 'cause I'm a sick fvck(in the words of jscott23 himself), but I kept watching, hoping they would pull something out. Dont say that you enjoyed watching the team get battered on road games, if so, then you are not a sick fvck.

If you are saying that everyone who found ithard to watch the team get beat i not a true fan, then you are calling all of us untrue fans.
