    1. Does the Open Cup victory translate into "momentum" into the playoffs?

    2. Does SS2 keep his job another season even if we get knocked out of the playoffs early?

    3. How much of a raise can Gomez get?

    4. Do we keep the "Brazilian" formation? (4-2-2-2)

    4b. Nagamura or Saragosa?

    5. Do we have a team that can beat CrapJose? In their bathtub field?

    6. Will Sean graduate from high school? Will he fulfill his dream of moving to Los Angeles and chasing chicks with fake hooters around full-time while on a student visa?

    1. Momentum? Hope so. Guess we'll see Saturday. Strong overall performance aside from Hou-Don-i. I guess Donovan as DMid was to conserve energy(?)

    2. SS2? I'd rather ne not. But, if he can get them to play cohesively for the rest of the season and the players buy into what he's selling...

    3. Gomez? Give him 1/2 of Kiro plus incentives. We still need a left winger-type mid.

    4. "Brazilian" formation? Honestly, think it's the best overall game of the season and that formation gets our "arguably" best players out on the field

4b. Nagamura or Saragosa? Yes :D . Pretty much a tossup. I'd usually say play them and bench Pete, but he played pretty hard.

    5. Beat CrapJose? 1-touch passing seemed better last night. I think that's the key (or is it?)

    6. Will Sean graduate from high school? Probably not with his unhealthy fascination with a mid-table team in a mid-table league. ;) [/QUOTE]

    1. Does the Open Cup victory translate into "momentum" into the playoffs?

Not necessarily. I can easily see us losing to Dallas this weekend. But it should help. Too much depends on the opponent and other contingencies for this to have a major impact immediately.

    2. Does SS2 keep his job another season even if we get knocked out of the playoffs early?

No. I think it would take a lot for him to keep his job.

    3. How much of a raise can Gomez get?

Pimping ain't easy, give the guy the paper.

    4. Do we keep the "Brazilian" formation? (4-2-2-2)

I'd take any formation that keeps out on the pitch.

    4b. Nagamura or Saragosa?

Both if it means Pete sits down for a while.

    5. Do we have a team that can beat CrapJose? In their bathtub field?

    Yes and yes. Anything's possible.

    6. Will Sean graduate from high school? Will he fulfill his dream of moving to Los Angeles and chasing chicks with fake hooters around full-time while on a student visa?

    Let's hope so. :D

Does anyone realize just how difficult it is to get a student visa to Spain?

Probably a pain in the ass, it took me two attempts to get a stupid Work Permit to work in London.

    1. Does the Open Cup victory translate into "momentum" into the playoffs?

most other teams yes, but the away win to DC should have got us some momentum same for the san jose cup win. the reality is saturday sampson will tinker with the lineup again, justifiably in this case, but still. moronic moves like having donovan playing right wing are indicative of why we won't gain momentum.

    2. Does SS2 keep his job another season even if we get knocked out of the playoffs early?

no. sampson is gone barring an mls cup win and even then he'd only be here next year because sacking a double winning coach would be PR suicide. for what it's worth though, we play like we have been we're not getting out of round one.

    3. How much of a raise can Gomez get?
depends who was watching the game last night. i get the feeling though that herc would take less to play with the galaxy than with some "big name team" abroad. league max for sure, but still less than what other teams could offer.

    4. Do we keep the "Brazilian" formation? (4-2-2-2)
no. accommodating a lack of left sided midfielder by playing 4 people out of position is colossally stupid. if it weren't way too late in the season i'd say try dunivant at left mid.

    4b. Nagamura or Saragosa?
both in a 3-5-2 with no pete.

    5. Do we have a team that can beat CrapJose? In their bathtub field?

part 1 - technically yes, tactically no, realistically no.
part 2 - they've gone undefeated in the league at spartan this year against teams tactically far superior to us so no.

Both teams worked their butts off last night. Both should be dragging this weekend. Neither team has a leg up. It will be another battle. The team that is in the best condition will most likely pull this one out.

My 2 cents if I may.....

    A) Unless you're the 2005 Revs, momentum means absolutely nothing in a league "purposely" set up for PARITY! Where any team can beat any team on ANY GIVEN DAY! Like last season, if we can't win away from home, we won't win the cup.(IMO, Spartan will be the deciding factor.)

    B) It will be a PR disaster whether Flowbee get's fired now or later.
(IMO, he'll keep his job until cienfuegos accepts the position)

C)Regardless of whether Herc stays or someday goes, it will have nothing to do with what THE GALAXY can offer him. (IMO, he's our most achieved player since Cienfuegos and if he continues this into next season, he will be goners for sure!)

D)Saragoza is ours, Nagamura is on loan! That should answer your question!(IMO, Nagamura's price tag will also be too expensive and he'll go back to Brazil. If he stays, Vagenas will most likely have spent his final season with Galaxy.)

E)We've beat them before and can do it again. (IMO, to be honest I'm terrified of San Jose's game right now!)

F)Sean seems like a good young kid. His Dad will most likely make his wishes come true and attend a Galaxy match in Carson come next year.(IMO, I really hope they end up staying in Hermosa Beach so he can experience the soarness from his very first "rubbernecking".

I cannot find any info that backs up your claim that Nagamura is on loan. The terms of his deal with the Galaxy are undisclosed, and when we acquired Nagamura from Arsenal (who purchased him from Sao Paolo--it wasn't a loan) it seemed like Nagamura was a free transfer with no contracts or commitments with any other team.

Here's a recent quote straight from the mouth of horseface:
Sampson expanded on the reasons behind the [Saragosa] trade, which seem to be somewhat redundant given the success of Paolo Nagamura at the position. “When negotiations with Sao Paolo in the off-season became complicated, we were fortunate enough to get Paolo from Arsenal and he has filled his role beautifully,” said the coach. “I want to make it clear that this is not a move to replace Nagamura. It’s going to take some time for Marcelo to regain his form. He has been training with Sao Paolo for the last month or so, so while he is in top physical condition, he has not played eleven-a-side soccer for many weeks, so it’s going to take him some time.”

    Source - Cybersoccer News

It's the typical vague Sampson quote, but he said nothing about any loan of Nagamura and it seems likely that Nagamura isn't going "back" anywhere any time soon.

If you have any info that can confirm that Nagamura is on loan, I'd love to see it. I can't find any.

    1. 4 of the last 5 USOC winners made the MLS Cup final (including the 01 squad). None of them ever won it.

    2. Landon will have a say in this.

    3. Double damnit.

    4. As long as there's less than 6 mids.

    4b. I don't see what's wrong with having both.

    5. Yes X 2, and they'll end the season with 2 straight losses to the Galaxy (we're not going into 4th damnit).

    6. Duh X 2

Nagamura was released by Arsenal as far as I know, and we picked him up, I think we own him, which could mean Captain 4 Life will be gone next season, or he at least wont be a regular starter.

PS. What's a rubberneckin', or dare I ask(is it one of those words you use that I am again not getting?)

    rubberneckin'
definition: craning one's neck while driving an automobile to stare in profound fascination at some poor sap on the shoulder of the freeway trying to wipe the birdsh|t off his car window. Usually involves the patent criminal abuse of the brake and is often the cause of the phenomenon known as 'parking lot' one does not normally associate with said freeway.

I had to read the rubberneckin' thing twice to understand it, but I get it now, so a bird shites on someones car, and you stop the car to stare at that person. Probably wont happen since I dont/cant drive.

Taking things a bit too literal Sean.

Rubbernecking is basically twisting your head so you can keep staring at something you see on the side of the road while driving. In Hermosa Beach, you'd rubberneck when you see a group of bronze, scantily clad jailbait bouncing along the sidewalk, the sun gently playing upon their flowing hair. On the freeway, as was alluded to, idiots rubberneck anytime there's a car on the side of the road, hoping to see a dead body, a wreck, or any sort of carnage. These idiots cause our wonderful freeway system to come to a near halt, as they slow down to stare. Rubbernecking causes more accidents and traffic than anything else on the freeway.
