I don't understand how anyone manages to watch a Chelsea-Liverpool match without Tivo. I watched today's CL match on fast forward, slowing down only for set pieces. It took me 15 minutes, and even that was boring. Nice to root for a team that plays as though it cares whether it scores goals.
For a while I wondered what it would be like to watch a football match at like 1.2-1.5x . Could save a lot of time.
I've never heard of this Tivo. Is he any good. Think Wenger should sign him in January? I think our megre budget could run to one
I taped it to dvd and only checked once to see the score. Only well after it finished did I - firstly, beat you to it! - by checking the match through just the chapters. Although, now that I hear Lpool had penalty appeals called off including a goal bound header by Carag. stopped by Gallas's hand I must go back to check it. *to justify and apologize for taping it, I only have ESPN2 for CL matches so I tape all I get.
I TIVO'd it. I watched the first half, and it about put me to sleep... I had to watch the second half on fast forward (boy am I glad I did, what a snooze-fest) and went to bed. I would have been angry if I had paid money to attend that game... neither team cared about the result.
My friend who came over to watch the game with me actually fell asleep during the second half. He slept from ~55mins and woke up ~77mins, so he didn't miss much. After he woke up, mumbling something about working late last night, we mostly fast-forwarded on TiVo for the rest of the game. Watching Cheski play is worse than watching paint dry, but perhaps we can find some zen aspect to it. Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream...
Know your history. There used to be a time in the not so distant past when the same was said about the Arsenal. If you have no clue what I am talking about, asking an older Gunner. "Boring, Boring Arsenal" anyone? How easily we forget.
Was that Arsenal team the most expensive squad ever assembled? That's really the horrendous part, not that your team is boring but that it actually aspires to be boring. Its sad.
Come on GP, they could be brothers...they both have that lost sort of surfer dude look about them...lol.
Money does not equal championships, you should know that. Chelsea spent a lot of money the year before last too and won nowt. ManUnited used to spend more than a lot of Premiership clubs combined, and you took a few trophies off of them... If by boring you mean trying to stop the opponent from scoring and aspiring to score more goals than they do (AKA winning), then yes, we're guilty as charged. BTW, your "undefeated season" wasn't very entertaining for supporters of other clubs either, no matter how pretty the goals... When one club is head and shoulders above the rest, it makes for a very boring season.
I really don't see how you can compare the two. It was exciting for the average fan. Chelski, the flavor of the day and face of the prem right now, are not.
run back to the Chelsea forum Eddie. You know the way don't you? Maybe not. Oh thats right, you just jumped on board last April. Fetch anything good for your old ManU jersey? You fairweather wanker you.
You are a moron. Nobody accused Arsenal of playing anything but positive football during the unbeaten season. Chelsea on the other hand, are the epitomy of boring. Why buy every player on the continent to sit back in 4-5-1 and wait out a 1-0 victory? Mark my words - Chelsea will implode this year. Too many egos sitting on the bench or growing cobwebs under their boots during another 1-0 snoozefest.
Chelsea wasn't trying to score more goals than Liverpool on Wednesday. They were playing for 0-0. If you disagree, take it up with the folks over in the Chelsea forum -- they're saying the same thing.
LOL...you really don't know ANYTHING about me do you? You really should get to know me. I'm one of the most un-nouveau Chelsea fans here and I think most Gooners on here would say I'm pretty level headed. Perhaps you haven't yet seen BillyHo's signature.
You neg repped me for posting in the Chelsea forum because I commented about Chelsea's "generosity" of donating a JERSEY to the Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina. So, what brings you into the Arsenal forum?
