    From mlsnet.com

"The American soccer community is joining together to raise funds to support the victims of one of the most devastating natural disasters in our nation's history. Major League Soccer players, as well as members of the U.S. National Team and Mexican National Team, are contributing autographed game-worn jerseys that will be auctioned to raise funds for the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

Players competing in the U.S. vs. Mexico World Cup qualifier in Columbus, Ohio on September 3 and all MLS games on September 3 and 4 will sign the jerseys and donate them for the relief efforts. These jerseys will be auctioned online via www.MLSnet.com with 100 percent of the proceeds going to programs that support the victims of Hurricane Katrina. "

    Very impressive.

I am looking to bid on the Marquez jersey..

Also, just so everybody knows this is the offer from the Mexican government for the Katrina disaster....... from CNN.

"-- Mexico has offered $1 million and is sending 15 truckloads of water, food and medical supplies via Texas. The Mexican navy has offered to send two ships, two helicopters and 15 amphibious vehicles."

If you want the Marquez jersey, you just have to beat $550..........you'll be the top bidder after that.

And some fools would say that there is no mutual respect nor compassion between the two neighbors. ********** futbol/soccer...

Whether or not the Bush admnistration accepts it, the offer of the Mexican government has really touched me, right in my heart...

THIS IS THE KIND OF STORY THAT NEEDS TO GET MORE PRESS!
    Not just the negative s***

There's a lot of Mexican jerseys still available for only $150, big-name players like Pardo and Omar Bravo.

Good luck and happy bidding. Bless both countries.
