Apparently they guy assigned to holding the gun to Bruce's head got stuck in traffic. As of now, the "one o'clock" roster posting has not occurred.

It's actually scheduled for 1pm CT --> 2pm ET. They screwed up the release yesterday.

First time in years he's listed Convey as a midfielder.

Is Eddie Johnson even fully fit?

So, Convey, who can't play, is listed on the roster, and Pope, who's supposed to play (or at least be there), isn't? Odd...

I'm not sure about GAM's fitness, but he certainly hasn't shown much in league play recently.

it's as I said before, 12 good months and next thing you know he's the 3rd highest player in the league, one of the "annointed ones" as I like to say.

So I take it Connor Casey wasn't called into camp this time?

No, Casey Connor didn't make the cut.

Some guys I just don't get: Matt Reis and/or Marcus Hahahanemann. Frankie. Greg Vanney. Armas. Quaranta. As for Eddie "I Got Mine!" Johnson, sure, why not. I don't rate the kid either, and I think he's just the sort of guy that goons like Marquez are hired to cripple, but whatever.

He looks great going one-v-one against undernourished defendersfrom whatever pathetic little two-mule Caribbean island or fly-infested Central American hellhole we're beating up on at any given moment, but Mexico and later the Euro sides we'll play in Germany, are made up of very hard men who eat flashy little boys for a living.

Casey Connor is currently mending from a torn ACL suffered in the Gold Cup.

I'm not so sure about Reis and Hanammen, I just don't know what the other options are at the moment. If Keller takes an injury over the next year, US are fuct.

I think at that point you go and beg Friedel to reconsider. And maybe Howard will get back in favor with SAF. I've never been all that keen on van der Saar. Looks like a ferret.

Correct, my thought exactly, you'd have to beg Friedel to come back into the fold. I think he'd do it. Playing for Rovers this season isn't going to do much for his confidence though.

I just don't understand Ralston, unless he's just as someone to flesh out the roster for this week's practices. No way Steve has the wheels for as full-tilt Mexico match. And I pray that Gibbs and Cherundolo heal quickly; Chris Albright a better defender than he was an attacking player, but he's still Chris Albright.

I just wanted to type Casey Connor.

I have faith in guys like Hanneman and Howard and even someone like Cannon. The reason people are seeing such a huge gap right now between Keller and the rest ISN'T because the rest aren't good, it's because Keller has been playing out of his mind whenever he wears the USA shirt. Not many keepers in the world have played as well as he has for the USA over the past, say, 6 months. The gap between normal Keller and Howard isn't that big.

Minnman- there's just no one else to play right midfield. He's the best true right midfielder the USA has. So the question is, do you play him out there, or play one of the much better players "out of position." I'll take Beasley on the right any day of the week.

I wish Bruce would call back in Brian West.

Mark my words, the most important player the US have over the next 12 months or so will be DMB. If he's on poor form the US isn't getting out of the group stage of the WC.

Likely right. Unfortunately, the second most important player is likely Landon Donovan, and I just don't believe he can carry a team, despite what he thinks.

Mostly though we;ll go as far as our defense can take up. Gibbs is crucial, as is Bocanegra. It's unfortunate that it's really too soon to expect Marshall and Spector to contribute, which is a shame. They're both spectacular talents, but defenders as young as they are not going to get the job done.

Frankly, the fact that Arena is still calling Hejduk in as a backup defender says an awful lot, and none of it is good.

In case anyone was wondering, Howard was left off because his wifey is expecting a child very soon.

Oh, and supposedly there will be pre-game and post-game coverage on ESPNnews.

    On Jeff Cunningham:
“I think he’s a more seasoned player. He’s learned from his experiences. I think generally what happens in a national team camp is that it’s very difficult for any player to come in initially and feel comfortable in the setting. It’s new teammates, new coaches, new environment, new challenges. From one player to the next, they all deal with that in different ways. But, generally, it’s a slow process and that was the case with Jeff. This time around, we had him for the last camp and he felt comfortable and I thought he did a good job. In this camp, he feels more comfortable. When Jeff is comfortable, he is confident, and when he’s confident, he can play well. I think the last couple of camps have been good for him and, obviously, his season to date with the Colorado Rapids has been good. So, I think, Jeff is a more experienced player and a player that comes in here with a lot of confidence.”

Interesting even though he plays a lot of players little experience. Sounds like he's saying that Jeffro was slow to acclimate himself to the nat level.
