This was the plan remove WMD evidentlyy they are removed get rid of Sadam we did that. Mission acomplished only thing we didn't do was take their fing oil to pay for it and lastly we should have left after accomplishing the mission we didn't do that either. So the iraqi could fight their civil war and kill each other.

Really the protesters should be at the White House, at the Capitol Building at the homes of the lawmakers, etc... go protest in front of the people who send the troops overseas.

95% of the WMDs were destroyed after Desert Storm, confirmed by the inspectors. No evidence that they ever successfully created any more was ever found. To me, thats us being lied to the gov't or them being stupid enough to jump into a war on shaky evidence. The US is not that stupid.

Now our economy is being drained for what? Who profits? Who dies for it?

I'm not too cool with them protesting at the hospital, but I didn't even know until someone pointed it out. Sounds like propaganda to me.

Vote them all out of office.

Oh I see they lied about the hospital protesters who lied the president and the congress.

Everyone is lying vote everyone out \.Economy is drained? See we should take all the iraqi oil to bring back the economy then leave mission accomplished.

No, it's not an appropriate venue. Imagine how much it must upset wounded vets - who probably lost friends in Iraq - to look out the window and see coffins on the lawn.

These people might be making a good point but they are hurting some of the people they purport to want to help.

    Ergo, they're morons.

First, you don't even know if these protests really happened. Second, as a independent moderate centrist, how would you know the deep down unspoken sentiments of the anti-war left. For that matter, how would you know the deep down unspoken sentiments of anyone but yourself. You speak without knowledge and portray yourself an expert. But please, go start another self loathing leftists tread.

You are so good on this topic and I agree with you so much.

    I am going to cry.

    You rock.

I'm sure Segroves has already chimed in, but in case he hasn't, it's Fred Phelps' bunch.

So you don't care that the protests are upsetting the wounded soldiers? You don't think that it's at least inconsiderate to ignore their feelings? I personally think it's horrendous to do anything that will make a person in a hospital - any hospital - feel worse. Especially for political purposes.

You don't think these people couldn't find another venue to say what they have to say? Because what they are saying has merit. It's just that they've chosen a very bad place to say it.

Agreed, I would think that the protestors could find where congressman and women are going to give speeches and protest them there. I think there are a wide variety of places where protests can be held instead of where these people are being treated.

If these people had half a brain, instead of protesting, they'd be raising money, or volunteering for political groups which would WORK TO GET THE BASTARDS OUT OF OFFICE! (just taking their mindset for a second).

Hello??? Bush is already in for his second term. He's got two years left and he ain't gonna pull out. So, work for something you believe in, rather than protesting against what you don't. (or, at least give equal attention to both)

They'll start pulling out just in time for next year's midterms.

"Hey, Iraq's got an army, it's got a constitution, it's got a government. Mission accomplished!"

Ray, we can't get the oil, it keeps getting blown up.

    Note the word I highlighted.

I thought this was a one-time protest. As such, I don't have a problem with it. If they're there every day, that would suck. If you think I'm hair-splitting, I won't argue with you.

But I'm mostly a utilitarian. IMO, protesting there one day does more good than harm. Protesting there every day does more harm than good.

Someone said that they're there every Friday. I don't know if that's true or not. But yeah, I agree that one hospital protest isn't as bad as regularly scheduled hospital protests.

Yep, I believe Bush lied. He wanted Saddam out and fabricated the whole WMD story to make it look justified. Anyone who has been maimed has been maimed for a lie. Without the lies there'd have been no war.

Depends. How many didn't voluteer for the war but were in the army anyway and had no choice about going or not? How many went because they believed the lie that the war was vital for the defence of the USA in fighting terrorism? How many signed up because they wanted to go to war so the Iraqis could have elections? I don't have the figures to hand, but I have a sneaky suspicion the number in both the first and second catergories outnumber those in the third by a ridiculous amount.

so do you believe that they genuinely believed Iraq was a threat with direct links to 9/11?
If Bush from the outset had said that he wanted to go to war so the Iraqis could have elections, would you have thought that a totally worthwhile cause?
Would you have thought it justified?

Trust me, the next "Bush" is waiting in the wings. Your problem is NOT BUSH. He is irrelevant now. (I say that in a very narrow way)

So, think about next year and 2008. Pointing out how Bush this and that is not going to help you.

Either that, or go to :

We all know that STARTS and STRIPES is a liberal rag, and should be shut down just like PBS.

Doesn't sound like they're dishonoring the troops at all.
