Re: MLS Select Team Dwayne DeRosario deserves to go as much as anybody in the league. You could make a case for him being the MVP. He just might be playing the best soccer of any midfielder in the league right now. he's gotta be on the team.
Re: MLS Select Team Not that I know of. But this situation is unique: Jim Rooney was not yet an all-star in 1998 with the Metrostars. He later starred for Miami and NE. Jim received a red card the week before the all-star game. His next available Metrostar game was in 2 weeks. So what did he do to keep busy? He played 2 games in the USL A-League for the Staten Island Vipers.

Re: MLS Select Team there is no way adu is going for two reasons. 1. hes hurt right now. 2. even if he wasnt, when we send him over there to showcase him to the europeans they will laugh at us, because he is suppose to be the "best american soccer player ever", or atleast thats the way the mls and US media decided to hype him. and once they see that he is no better than anyone else on the allstar team, and worse than most of them, they will just think he and every other american soccer player is a joke.
Re: MLS Select Team If it wasn't that he would be just coming off injury (maybe back then) and not back to full form yet I would send him despite fears of what they would think.. I think the smarter fans and the pros would understand what stage he is at in development and see the talent. He didn't really lose any respect for his play against Chelsea.

Re: MLS Select Team Wasn't Lubos Kubik suspended from the All Star game in his last year with Dallas? I think this was after he came onto the field from behind the goal (as a sub) to take the whistle out of the refs mouth.
