    Only two O's in Kmosko.

But, damn, drunk driving twice in a year.

What is it about Columbus, the law and MLS players. First Diaz Arce and Gori get arrested (charges later dropped for lack of evidence) for raping a woman at the team hotel, Kmosko gets nabbed twice for driving while loaded and then Edson and all his problems.

Meanwhile, have we heard about an MLS player having a criminal problem (besides Roy Lassiter, but that was before he played in MLS) anywhere else besides in Columbus?

    I'd like to hear them.

All I can think of is:

BUDDLE, EDSON (OUT): Undergoing a potentially endless assessment by trained medical health professionals pursuant to MLS' Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Poicy for events that occured sometime in the not too recent past, which involved a car and poor judgment on his part, which is part of a larger pattern of disrespect to the safety of other Central Ohio Motorists.

    BUSCH, JON (OUT): Knee injury

JORDAN, MATT (OUT): Chronic Herdsman like tendencies.

    Re: Buddle Suspended by League

Actually, one of the interesting things about this is that they very studiously AVOID using the word "suspend" anywhere in that statement. It's about as vanilla, generic and non-informative a statement as you'll find anywhere.

It's really a masterpiece of the genre.

Essentially, he's not allowed to play unless and until some doctors say he can

The police believed they had probable cause to ask him to submit to a breathalyzer, which request he refused.

This in and of itself causes your liscence to be suspended.

There is no reason whatsoever to think, believe or speculate that any substance other than alcohol was involved. Whether that means beer or vodka or MD 20/20 is unknown.

Does that mean they'll have to assign him a number, and actually find a jersey, or just wait until tomorrow when he pulls a muscle getting out of bed?

It's the juice. Canseco has a whole chapter devoted to Buddle in his new book.

Who but Jeffo could get a goddam jaywalking pinch turned into a tussle with the Cops? Jaywalking is what, $15?

You take the ticket and go tell your friends how the Columbus pigs hate the black man. You don't freak out and give them the opportunity to run you over to One Police Plaza in the back of a cruiser. Resisting arrest? They live for that sh!t.

But it's just so typically Jeffo. No way he could take that and shut his mouth. Jeez, I wish we had him back.

Why aren't we atalking about details? Apparently his plea bargain was to plea guilty to the OVI charge and everything else was dismissed. What's the penalty for that?

He plead guilty to the most serious charge in return for dismissal of the penny ante crap. Like I said before, and maybe TimD or Brook or someone can verify it, when he refused the breathalizer he wrote his own deal. One year suspension (I think) and a fine. The rest of that crap was CPD lingo meaning "We got your black ass, pal". You hassle the Cops, as he apparently did, and they write everything they can come up with. Cost you $20,000 to defend and it will still come down to who the jury believes: a young, drunk black kid or a 20 year Columbus police sergeant.

You lose that sucker every time. Every time.

So he plead it out. He'll be begging rides for a year.

It's not unreasonable to ask, at least in Washington County. Here you see judges hand down a judgment of do so many hours of community service or take 2-3 days in jail for first-time offenses.

I havent hit the Franklin County Muni Court site, so I'm dealing with my professional opinion and the heresay going on here.
First time 4511.19 (OMVI) conviction is generally no jail time IF you pay the $500 and go to the three day school. IF you dont go to the school, you get the three days in jail. Minimum $500 fine, maximum $2500 fine. Probably also, non reporting probation, meaning if you come into the system again you get screwed with the 3 days jail, no matter what. That generally lasts a year (the probation). Figure also, in Cleveland, the going rate for a defense attorney familiar with that court, is about $1500-2500! All for about six hours of work (note to self: study for the LSATs).
Plus, an alcohol assessment, in addition to the three day school where they tell you, no matter what, that you have a drinking problem.
Now, since he refused the chemical test, that throws another wrench into the works. Some courts say if you plead guilty for the OMVI, for first offense, you can reinstate your license (for only $500 made payable to BMV) after 90 days. That in effect depends on your attorney , the Judge, if MADD's advocate was in the courtroom ( and she usually is), and your cooperation with the court.
He may have those nice yellow license plates on the ride now.

Oh, and Bill, you're right... You hassle me out on the road and I will charge you with everything I can come up with. But, please remember, the majority of us aren't out there to hassle anybody, I dont care if they're white, black, Chinese, Arabic, etc. We just want the bosses off of our arse and to go home with the least amount of aggravation possible. And, in my opinion, I have answered the most calls for service in 13 years of Police service in my department and have never had to take a baton, pepper, or fists to anyone. I'm proud of that. I even have felons for friends, guys I have once or twice arrested.

Thanks for proving my points with the Cunny post.

How does Cunningham's record get pulled into a thread about an Edson Buddle DUI, exactly? Then gets judged guilty by Bill for trumped up charges that were DISMISSED. It's unreal.

How long before every player's speeding tickets and public record along with their address and Licence Plate number appears on this board? Not too long with this bunch. It's public record so it's fair game right?

You know public record is great to let neighbors know who they're living next to and all, but your not using it for that. Your using it simply to get a kick at another person's expense. That just makes all of you pathetic.

That's why past threads got closed. Not because anyone wants to stop anyone talking about Edson Buddle and his DUI. Talk about it until your hearts are content for all I care. It's the shear evil in which many of you are willing to go to judge and get a laugh at another person.

I'm ashamed to be a part of this board.

As a matter of fact, it is. That's why they're called public records.

You've got it wrong. Public records are public so that the public can see what their tax dollars are doing and as a watchdog against police abuses. What you want it to be used for isn't germaine.

    Evil?

    That's your choice. It's a free country.

So, in your mind, when, if ever, is it appropriate for players' legal issues to be discussed in a forum like this?

Is it none it all, regardless of the crime? Or is there some threshold of relevance that has to be crossed and if so, what is it?

I mean, when Maurice Clarett ran afoul with the fuzz in C-town for those false insurance claims, was that fair to discuss? What about when Diaz Arce and Gori were charged with rape? Was that appropriate to discuss?

Please enlighten us to the standard of decency that must be met for you to not be so offended.

Go back through here and other's posts about this very subject, that's exactly the reason they argue it's out there. Now you've thrown out another reason that they are public as well and say the other people are wrong for beliving that. And your right. The fact is however, this thread has proven that people can use this information to mean whatever they want it to mean. Whether it's to protect themselves from state abuses, neighbors, or as it's used in this thread, to mock and ridicule several people. Which to me, yes, is Evil. At least the other reasons are there to protect themselves and/or property, this is just for self-satisfaction.

How about when you can explain to me what Cunningham, Gori and Diaz Arce offenses have to do with Edson Buddle's DUI.

Is this thread or is this thread not about Buddle's DUI or should it be renamed stupid ******** Athletes get themselves into.

So, I take it by your answer that you have no problems discussing Edson and the detais of his problems with the law.

And Andy is that really what you want? Whether a player has done something wrong or not recently to have their record posted for no other reason then it's there like Cunningham's was?
