i wonder if you were the other "seeder" shown on HPI (see my post above). I noticed that you didnt upload any during the day wither. Does mine need to be connected in order for others to seed? i didnt think so, but am not sure. Anyway, this whole torrent has been wierd. I've hosted several torrents before and had no issues. The VNC is new tho, which is why i suspect it was the culprit (even tho they use different ports), so maybe as long as i keep it off it should seed well. Again thanks for everybody's patience and hopefully everyone will get their copy soon
it was running smoothly when i left the house this morning. I think i've narrowed it down to VNC conflicting with it, which is odd as they don't use the same ports. Bootsy Collins, are you having issues with any other torrents, or just this one? Do u run VNC or anything like it? Who is your ISP? I'm just asking to see if there is some common root of the issue so we can avoid it in the future...
Just this one. And again, I've got the whole file right now; I'm seeding, but nobody is leeching. Nope. Speakeasy -- selected because they put no restrictions on ports, servers or traffic and allow static IP. Maybe there really is nobody leeching right now?
if you goto HPI's website and click on the torrnet name (not the download link), it will give you the stats. It shows who is seeding, who is leeching, amount seeded, leeched, etc. There were severl seeders with 0kb uploaded which is really, really odd. I don't think its the tracker server cus he was supposed to check it a few days ago (hes pretty good about it) so i'm wondering what the connection is. Maybe mine (as the original) needs to be running smoothly for it to work? maybe now that its running, all you have to do is restart your BT client. i dunno, i'm stumped....
Well, I seeded it all night. I also seeded 2002 WC US v. Korea, because I saw on HPI that someone was trying to DL it and nobody was trying to seed it. This morning, I looked at my numbers: not one byte of either sent out. I've never had any problems before, not ever. And stuff I seed through trackers other than HPI work fine. Something weird is up.
hey Bootsy Colins, are you *currently* seeding files on other trackers? I would really like to pin down what the issue is.
Not at this moment. I was yesterday, though. Can't fire something else up to try until late tonight, now (am now at work).
woohoo, everybody is done leeching. I will probably take the torrent down this weekend so i can post the next one i have (MLS all-stars).
good thing I got it today then. Been out of town and want to put this on my computer. I think it took me about 30 min or so to download the theing. plus a few minutes trying to figure it all out. Great quality too watching it right now! mikey
