Porto won't get rid of Benni especially since arsenal head boss stated that he is a great striker who creates chances. Many coaches know his talent or else he won't be doing what he does and that's putting the ball in the back of the net. To bad benni isn't portugese or else he'd be our striker not this pauleta fool. Which team can go to the final of a cup without having there starting striker score one goal? Postiga should get the start, this guy is young and able to score.
For real. I've never seen that before. Even the Greek striker scored more then our Pauleta. Give Postiga the starting role NOW.
I always liked Postiga, i just think he had an off year last year. Between him and Pauleta i would take him anyday.

This time he's talking to some South African press (what's the deal with those South African reporters anyway?! They always manage to get Benny Mac all riled up about something! ) Anyway, this time he says that he will score a lot of goals for Porto "if Adriaanse puts the right players in midfield" (full article from «o Jogo») I don't know, but doesn't this sound like a little dig at Postiga? I mean Postiga has been playing as the n.º10 and... lets face it, Postiga is not really known for his assists! He would probably prefer to have Diego set him up. Well... I have to say I kind of agree with Benny but, still... he should be more reserved in his opinions. Most coaches don't like players who tell them what to do or who to play .
I read that article yesterday and i took it the same way as you. This things should be kept inside the locker room, something that Porto was realy good at it in the past, and not out in the media. Having said that, Diego would be better suited for that position (i can't believe i agree with Ferreira yet again....i must be sick ). Benny can score goals but his big mouth and short temper will always cause problems.
what current form. i think he's scored 3-4 goals from 4 league games. stop paying the guy out, he's not as bad as other strikers.

Ele quebrou a disciplina interna do clube ao chamar a cabeleireira ao Hotel para acabar de lhe arranjar o cabelo que tinha comecado no dia anterior , nao tendo acabado por causa do trein treinador dos guarda redes viu e informou o Adriaanse que falou com ele e o mandou embora do estagio , tendo o jogador ficado desapontado e mais ainda ao nao ser convocado para a Escocia.Vai ficar ate quarta feira na B com uma multa e de resto tudo normal ...nao foi provocacao do jogador tendo o treinador frisado que ele lamentou a situacao.Disciplina eh para se cumprir!
I hate this hole Benni thing. We need him if were going to have the type of squad that can be competitive in all competitions. Maybe we should have sold him but since we didn't we need him to be scoring goals for us. The thing that scares me the most is that I can see this guy going out there and not giving a damn about the team anymore. He's played well and it hasen't got him out of Porto so I just hope he doesn't try pissing the right people of to make sure he'll get himself out of Porto come January. And the thing that's the most frusterating is that it looks like it might be another long year for us with Postiga again with injuries and inconsistancy. Those 2 situations combined makes Almeida our number 1 and all thought I'm one of the few who would have liked to see Benni sold so Hugo can play more, I'll admit that we need a little more "umph" upfront then just Hugo. Maybe we should think about moving Lisandro in to a pure striker role or maybe we should have spent a little more money and brought in someone a little more consistant then Sokota. Easy to make decisions like that now though. Just an opinion.
I like the firepower that Benny brings to our team just as much as any other Portista, but I think we need to draw a line somewhere. I don't believe Benny "regrets" the situation like robocope described a couple of posts above. And I don't believe that "hairdresser" was "extending Benny's hair" either. I think Benny was extending his diick on the "hairdresser"! Whatever it was, it was on purpose. And we can't be as naive as to think otherwise. So the question now is: what to do with him?
Isin't that pretty harsh. Porto would be ok in league play without him, but IMO you need him in the CL. Is CO running a army camp or a soccer team?
