So he's scored one already with his head in the friendly against mighty Ritzing, and I heard he hit the post today against Ultrecht with, wait, A HEADER!
Is this what he's been working on tirelessly in the off season in training? Just when the opposition thought Henry could never get more terrifying, he seems to really be working on the header. Is Hleb the man to help get Henry 40 this campaign????

I can't shake the feeling that Henry will become the greatest captain Arsenal have ever known (I'll add, even if he is French, for all the English xenophobes on Big Soccer!!) [jk]
This next bit may sound crazy but, I predict that Henry will score 4 or more goals with his head this season.

Anyone dare to make a gentleman's bet??

henry will never be the greatest captain we've ever had, because he isn't a natural leader. yeah wenger chose him but what other candidates with leadership qualities were there really....apart from bergkamp?

He's got a hell of a long way to go to make me forget Tony Adams...

Never?? Hmm...Okay. I've heard some other people say that Henry isn't a natural leader. So in your eyes then, what makes a natural leader??

He'll need to do a bit more than knock in a few headers, but you never know. He has some big shoes to fill looking at past captains.

I do hope he and others can work on producing and defending the aerial attack this season. It is an aspect of the game that has been missing.

Sometimes I really hate that the memories are so good for so long on this board.

Oh, I don't think anything's changed with his heading.

The one he scored the other day he didn't even need to move for and he had quite the space.

Once I see a header w/ technique happen TWICE, to make sure it wasn't a fluke, THEN, I'll start to believe.

    As for his leadership abilities.

if I were to picture him being the captain of the French NT, it wouldn't be a good fit. He doesn't seem cut out for it, naturally cut out for it.

But, for Arsenal, I think it may work. Arsenal is a different aspect, I am not saying it's worse than the NT, nothing like that, but in terms of where Henry would step up and mend w/ a captaincy, I think Arsenal would be perfect. I'm sure he'll be inspired and so will the team, especially/specifically as many are young. His heart is in it.

I'm rather excited about his being the captain of Arsenal now and am curious and would like to see how it plays out. I'm sure it will good for the team.

I'll start the list with "not glaring maliciously at, refusing to pass the ball to and refusing to celebrate with a teammate who makes the occasional mistake or doesn't always look to give you the ball first."

I'm aware of this, but I think that can/will change. At least slightly, I'm sure it won't be as blatant as before.

We always damn that which we ourselves are most guilty, and sarcasm is the idiot's wit, especially sarcasm "In quotes", give me a break. Textbook example of petulance, though I'm afraid the comment isn't very original, but thanks for the input fox point......Fury! Rar!!! Fury!!! Too funny.

Anyway yeah, I've seen him do that once or twice I do believe, but he seemed to lighten up quite a bit on Reyes, in fact, I can't remember that happening for a while now.
So he's a perfectionist and always wants the goal no doubt about that, and has taken it too far sometimes with the icy glares, can't argue with that, but these were often times when Reyes was trying too hard---admittedly that doesn't justify the behavior. Although a good captain on the pitch does have to reprimand from time to time.
Henry's been loyal to the club, he's a ferocious competitor, he's charismatic, he seems to have the respect from the rest of the team, yes he demands perfection or close to it, he is Arsenal though and through.
So foxpoint who do you think would make a better captain? And before you say Bergkamp, you know he just can't play every week.
    So who??

I call that being competitive and wanting to be the best. Let me think about who else used to do some of those things...
