Maybe it's time for me to go on one of those 3 day Carnival cruises out of Long Beach. It's been a couple of years. I should give her the free flight I've earned with all of my travel to my sister-in-law to get her out here and we should just GO. Just us.

    hmmmm.

    I miss the tailgates. :( :( :(

If anyone (*coughBajorocough*) sends me a PM before the next game saying something like, "DeRo's gonna be at the tailgate. Isn't that cool?!" I will kick their butt!

That would probably be tons of fun for you!

I've never been on a cruise. I went on a dinner cruise kinda thing in Portland. But I got sea sick. And I've just never had the want to go on a cruise. Just being stuck inside something doesn't sound like fun to me. Everyone tells me there's so much to do. But I can't get over the fact that I'm stuck inside something and I can't just leave if I want to.

sjqf - you should go to the tailgates. You WILL NOT jinx the team.

    Live in the moment sista!

But the thing about a cruise ship is that it's like you're on a humongous floating city. I've never felt as though I'm stuck somewhere. There's SO MANY places to go on the ship that it's almost impossible to visit them all in a 3 day trip. And with the 3 day out of LB, you stop for a day in Ensenada where even more stuff to do awaits you.

It's just so much fun! And it's nothing like a smaller boat as far as motion goes. With the stabilizers built into the ship, you really have no idea that you're rocking or moving. It's just so BIG.

I KNOW you'd love it. And it's pretty darned cheap to boot.

Yeah, I've gotta get myself to do that at least once. If nothing else at least for the experience.

But my balance is pretty strange. I went to this floating Chinese restuarant in Amsterdam. And everyone said it didn't feel like it was moving. But I could feel it. I had to walk around trying to maintain my balance. And at one point I went to set my water down on the table, but my balance was all off. I spilled my water all over the table. There were like 10 of us at the table. So totally embarrassing! But I swear I could feel the thing moving!

The weird part for me is after the cruise and when I'm back on solid ground. THAT'S when I feel the swaying motion. Especially in the shower for some reason. Happens every time! It takes me a few weeks to get my "land legs" back.

But is that from the ship or is it from all the partying on the ship? :p

This happens to me sometimes, usually after 6-7 beers.

Subject line of an email I received: Child Reimbursement

That strikes me as hilarious.... Not sure why, but it does.

    Home at last!
It sucks here! It was already 90 with like 85% humidity this morning when I was driving to work. At least it rained here this afternoon, so I don't think it is as steamy out now.

sjqf - back to the cruise for a minute. I was going through some pictures and was reminded just how fun these cruises can be.

It's a place where complete strangers are more than happy to sweep you off your feet! :D

Ahhh. those were the days. When would you like to go? :p

Ugh, you have no idea about humidity. When you are walking to work from the parking lot and a. you can see the steam rising off the ground and b. your hair is stickign to your neck after just like 1 minute walk, that's when you know it's bad. My freaking sunglasses fog up everytime I walk outside.

Ugh! That's disgusting! I can't stand humidity. If the air reaches out and touches me...gross!

I can't help but think of the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer sends one out into the ocean and the golf ball ends up in the blow-hole of a whale. The ball threatens the whale's life and people are beside themselves with what to do!

Along comes George and his love interest. They see the upheavel on the shore - the whale is beached.

Of course George is unemployed, but for the sake of impressing his date he had already been pretending to be a Marine Biologist to impress her as they strolled along the beach. Little did he know....

She insisted he save the whale.

George gives his best tarzan shout, dives into the blow-hole with his hand, pulls out the golf ball, and saves the whale!

Now, we all know George is not a Marine Biologist.

    gawd, i loved that show.

"He's a competitor. . . . He'd stab his grandmother in the eyes just for another bowl of porridge." - Ray Hudson, describing the sometimes questionable style of play from Dema Kovalenko.

:D another Ray Hudson classic that I came across on the MLS Fans forum.

It's weird though. I guess growing up with it, I got used to it. When I went to school in Waco it's real dry and just hot heat. I used to get nosebleeds all the time up there. Now that I'm back home, I like it much better.
