    Unbelieveable officiating.

Prendergast and his his henchman Carlos Batres needs to go. This was the worst officiated game of the tournament. The US has lost more players to injury because of CONCACAF refs failing to do their job.

Honduras really showcased alot of their skills! The US showed a lot of composure and should count themselves lucky not to have lost. I think they underestimated the Honduran squad. Noonan and Dempsey made an immediate impact on the game. Go USA!

Just got back from the games...

WOW! That's all i can say. That was easily one of the best comebacks I've ever seen live. I have to say tho, that if we play like that, and Panama plays the way they did tonight, it will not be easy for us at all. It's gonna be a great game on Sunday!

well played for Honduras, they didnt deserve to lose this game IMO...they looked better and they got a goal suspiciously denied cuz of a offside that wasnt there..

now the US coach needs to work on that defense, Honduras was playing with them and made them look like there were Brazilians attacking...

still, the US should take the cup...easy

Are you people crazy? The US got lucky? Honduras deserved to win? Did you even watch the match? Outside of the opening of the game when Honduras came out like gangbusters, the US dominated this match, especially the second half. They struck the post in the first half and had numerous point blank chances in the second half that they could not convert. In the second half almost all of the possession belonged to the US. Perhaps if Honduras had not played a classless brand of soccer and time wasted from the opening whistle of the second half, they might have attacked and achieved a different outcome. But they didn't. And they were utterly dominated. Considering the hostile crowd, the incedibily uneven officiating, the injuries which disrupted their substitution pattern, and the ejection of their coach, the US did a remarkable job in winning this game. There is nothinh lucky about this. It was a high quality win.

Honduras played well - Didn't do anything horrendously stupid - The USA team did - Repeatedly

Honduras' main error was stalling too much the last 30 minutes and not working on maintaining possession - They gave the ball away too readily to the USA, but then the USA team (being gentleman) returned the favor repeatedly

YET - Beasley gets fouled by the Keeper in the Penalty Box but no foul called - Mastroeni gets his leg broken by a Studs-Up cheap-shot foul in the middle of the field and no foul called - And Pendergrast Red Cards Arena for the second time - I think the dreadlocks got in his eyes

PS: Felt sorry for the Honduras Keeper - He played well - (well - unlike his teammates, I guess that means no cheap-shot fouls meant to injure the opponent) - Then he got badly injured right at the end of the first half - Broken wrist?

OH, and to anyone who may suggest that the ref'ing didn't cause the fouls I'll simply suggest that the fouls were caused by a general lack of control by the ref who let way too much contact occur from the Honduran players. He let the game get out of hand in the early going....

high quality? have you lot forgot who you were playing? honduras who? they are ranked about 50th in the world! you cant claim it was a high 'quality' win when the opposition is a bunch of nobodys! and was that game not played in boston? shows how unloyal your fans are that they did not even turn up to watch thier team play in thier own country

yeah i watched the match and Honduras should've ended the first half winning 3-0 easily...(with your uneven officianting that called Honduras first goal offside when there wasnt any)the US team was nowhere to be seen and the only one "trying" to do something was Beasley...the US didnt dominate the match, the US had the ball because Honduras let them have it, or are you gonna tell me there was a nonstop pressure by the US offensive? if that was dominating for you then you should worry about the WC next year...

in the second half of course the possession because everyone knew that Honduras was just gonna fall back and wait for the counter attack, or you were the only one not expecting it? is that being utterly dominated to you?
cuz there's a big difference between HAVING the ball and KNOWING what to do with it..

the times Honduras attacked it just made the american defense looked bad and just played with them...i have read many posts from americans complaining about their defense, i dont watch US games often but after watching it yesterday now i know what they all complained about...

nothing lucky how about the first goal? all those rebounds and the defender giving the pass were all part of the strategy? Hostile crowd where? cuz they were cheering Honduras that's hostile to you? how are you gonna react if they ever get to play in Argentina or again in Honduras then?

Honduras lost because their defenders don't know how to mark. They are lucky that this US team only has one player who can head the ball-Gooch. If the regular US teams back--McBride, Johnson, Ching, Boca, Gibbs, etc., those freekicks and corners are much, much dangerous plus guys like Lewis can send a cross in.
