Im sorry but I cant help but laugh at you guys crying about your precious rep. Its quite comical on one hand but on the other, its sad to know there are actually adults who take something so minescule so seriously. I think the people who are "mad" they lost their rep should spend some time outside. Its a beautiful day today. And dont worry, in reality people wont judge you buy your Big Soccer rep levels lol. I think you're VASTLY overreacting/trolling. Anyways, for some reason I only went down about 200 some points, but lost a green nipple as a result. Oh well...no biggie.
Fair call. It is the best thing to have happen. Some ppl have been using it as a way of getting back at others.

I understand where all of the "why do you care?" comments come from, but I have to say, I'm always a little disappointed when my rep gets cleared. It always leads me to take some time away from the site, which may not necessarily be a bad thing. It really does discourage people who try hard to contribute to the soccer content of the site to have relatively little rep compared to someone who set up camp in a rep whore thread. I don't have a solution, and it's a little immature of me to feel this way, but hell, I'm a serious professional all day at work, except for the three or four times a day I log on here, crack jokes, and talk about soccer. It's my immature time. Somehow, that justifies my feelings on this issue (in my own deluded world...)
The way I see it... Positive rep is basically meaningless. Some of the worst posters around here - in my opinion - are maxed out on green nipples. Lost of positive rep only means that there are at least a handful of posters that don't hate you. But negative rep tends to be pretty accurate. Anyone with a couple of red nipples probably needs to take a break from BigSoccer - for the sake of the rest of us.
What if you had received 10 negative reps by the same person over a 30 day period? Would that accurately reflect your contribution to BigSoccer? Welcome to the the BigSoccer world of soccer365.

of course one of the odd things to happen is when guys who had spent most of their early BS careers trolling or making stupid posts now have a huge rep increase.
As somebody who's earned half of their rep in a rep thread let me say this .... who cares? I don't judge a post or the poster's knowledge and/or value based on green nipples. Does anybody here? Really? I think the rep system is ridiculous and that's why I treat it as such. they mean nothing, so why I should put worth on them by maintaining some made-up sancity of the green nipple? here's the ONLY thing of value I've ever found from the rep system ... I like sending a painless IM to people. Just to say good job, funny line, nice point, etc. It's easier than PM'ing people. I like it for the ease of communication. Keep that feature, take out the rep and nipples and you have something good. The rep whore threads ... I don't see what's wrong them. Rep is a joke. The threads are a joke. They go together. I've earned enough legit rep to have my share of nipples ...... but I don't see the point. It's not like I'm a smarter or better poster because a few people like my John O'Brien joke.
Ringo, I totally agree with you. I think that if rep is there for a reason for positive posting then have it for us only to post positive rep. The mods and admin should be allowed to post the negative rep. I have seen it done on other sites which are simular to this one.
just and idea, but is it possible to make rep optional those who complain about getting negged all the time for doing nothing could just turn it off for themselves, but have to surrender their repping abilities
