Considering the problems both teams have, this could be a good game to watch.
No clear favorite, but since RSL has been playing slightly better you have to give them the advantage, although not much.

    This game is in LA.

I think RSL is starting to get it together on offense thanks to Watson. It seems that with each game they are working him more into the offense. Last Saturday he was the focal point of the attack and everyone was looking for him up top. Very positive.

Chivas will have their hands full with him.

    My prediction: 2-1, RSL wins!

This is definitely a pivotal game for RSL - they've managed to start scoring again (at least somewhat). They played a very impassioned game on Monday and they appear to be doing some things right... I'm worried about the backline with Pierce, Pope, AND Dunseth out of the game - YIKES!

A win in LA against the Goats would be huge in terms of momentum and confidence. The only problem, the Goats aren't going to lie down and give us anything...

I hate to say it but I'd be happy with a 1-1 tie - but I think the score will likely be a 2-1 going either way. With MLS refs, grass, on the road, Chivas desperate, RSL desperate - ANYTHING can happen.

I have to agree that RSL wins this one. Although I'm a bit nervous with Dunseth out. He was key to the defense on the 5/18 match. He won every 50/50 ball in the air and essentially shut down the Chivas striker (can't remember his name  ). I think our offense if finally starting to come together, but I'm worried about the D for this one.

Agree on all points. The D will be patched up, however the O looks like a different team and will therefore throw a new look at Chivas. We are actually attacking and giving the other teams fits. Gotta love it!!!

It's in LA? But you listed RSL first. Watch out for orthodox fans to swoop and peck away at you for that one, SoccerPrime. :D

Yes, Dunny, Pope, Williams and Pierce all out for Saturday.

And Besagno, not that he would have figured much into the line-up, but with that many holes, he might have been an option.

Broome should be available to make his debut, if needed. Apparently he was ready to go on Saturday but he just needs to increase his fitness a bit. I'm betting our starting lineup will be:

    -----------Countess-------------
    Akwari--Knowles--Kamler--Trembly
    ------------Cutler---------------
    Brown----------------------Tiger
    -------------Kreis---------------
    ----Mathis-----------Watson----

It shouldn't be to bad. Strong enough to beat Chivas.

I wasn't at the game on Monday and I missed the beginning of the radio coverage. I thought that they said that Mathis was back to playing A-Mid and Kreis was playing forward again. Is that right?

That's possible. They announced Mathis as a forward and Kreis as a mid but I can't remember how they actually lined up. With Mathis it's hard to tell anyways because he plays in the midfield regardless of where he's supposed to play. :)

I don't know how it was drawn up before the game, but Kreis definitely played forward and Mathis dropped back to midfield. He was never up top.

I heard Kamler was injured, but if not I would expect the following

    Countess
    Akwari Broome Knowles Kamler
    Cutler
Brown Trembly(can't bench him after that goal)
    Mathis
    Kreis Watson

Broome is a pure left side player. With our lack of a solid left defender, I wouldn't expect him to play anywhere else.

Too bad the "powers" at the MLS won't over-turn Dunny's red card and make it a yellow.

Such a horrible call. Dunny meant NO harm.

That seems to be the opinion of most. Since I can't make the games and it wasn't televised, I'm going on what people reported they saw.

Well... fortunately the 20,122 fans were completely unbiased in their view of the game - I mean there was this one Metro fan about 5 rows behind me to keep things fair and balanced...

[side note]Ahhh... the 900th post - what a waste of my life.[/side note]

[side note part deux]I can no longer post until I get enough rep to have 9 bars along the bottom... thus I will be resigned to editing my existing 900 posts to earn more rep until then... oh crap, you can't edit a post after 20 min![/side not part deux]

finally after 2 games i couldn't see i get to see this one (i actually have a small satellite dish pointing out the window of my hotel room now and a reciever so i can see the games!!!) Radio and MatchTracker just don't cut it!
with pierce and pope gone this is going to hurt. I know it's just chivas but if we win it's only gonna be by a goal.

(i hope i'm wrong on that one!)

Man, the last match against the 'Stars, I witnessed Andy Williams have a tremendous go. He was on his game. We will be sorry to miss him.

    Dunny and Rusty out...again...damn.

    No Pope, *@%#!!

I think we may have to outscore them in this one.

    RSL 3-2 Goats

Of course I am probably just being pessimistic...

Oh it was a bad call. I saw it. I saw no intent to harm...at all! I heard them slam into the boards, so what. They were both running so damn fast and giving it all they had.

The ref had a bad angle, and only heard them slam into the boards. That is the only reason he got a red, well, the only reason one can conclude.

    Here's to Dunny boy!

Is there a watch party downtown @ Iggy's?

I got rid of my Dish to save $$$ for school :( , and I'm sick of trying to watch the games online.
