Let it go mate - if I say I have a smaller car than my brother it doesn't mean my brother has a small car.

I'm sure if some people around the world got their way then we would be having a UK team. I couldn't stand it myself, infact I'd probably root against them. :)

I dont want to sound over confident but i think England for one are good enough on their own. It would be worse for irish, scottish and welsh football if we all joined one i reckon. England dont really need to join up with the UK we have the players all we need now is to not waste the talent we have an play well as a team.
It would be stupid to have a Uk squad but if we did i dont know who would actually get into the english sqaud if anyone to be honest. Owen, Rooney, whos better than them? And our midfield? giggs might have a chance of getting in instead of cole but i doubt it. Gerard, Lampard, Beckham wouldnt get replaced. Our defence rules, even neville is a good player at right back (he is solid and links up well with becks) and the others are world class.
As for a keeper that is perhaps the only opening in the team but even then robinson is pretty good.

The only Scottish players who would have a slight chance of making a British squad would be McNamara, Ferguson, Fletcher and Craig Gordon. Only Gordon could break into the team though.

A British team would never happen anyway and I wouldn't support it.

Was there not also a British team for the 1988 Seoul Olympics? I could have sworn that there was, mind you i was only 8 at the time, but i could have sworn that the team was mainly made up of U21 players, with Chris Woods in goal.....

Some is taking the mickey if they think that any player outside the present English squad that is classed as a Brit. would even get a look in. After watching Scotland in their last few qualifying games, none of their players would make the English ladies team. As for Giggs, would have made it a few years ago. His problem was , after playing for England youth he decided to play for Wales. Bellamy? forget it ,the mans an idiot.

    Just my view
    :)

London used Beckham as a high profile ambassador to win London the 2012 Olympic Games. Does this mean that the Brits will get their act together and actually give the Brits a chance to cheers their own Olympic soccer team? Not to mention the chance of a few young Brits to actually play and perhaps win soccer Gold Medals? Am I dreaming or will politics take over?

As fun as the Olympics are:

    1) It is a European Championships year.
    2) I do not want to play with the Scots, Welsh and Norn Irish,
    3) Who gives a fcuk about the Olympic football tournament?

Don't worry, you wouldn't need to play alongside the Scots, Welsh and Norn Irish!

I wouldn't support a British team, I wouldn't even piss on a union jack if it was on fire.
