didnt they have two categories for soccer last year (best male and female player?) I remember the last time they had a combined category, they gave it to MIA and I'm not sure if any men were even nominated..

Also, all the nominations for sports are up besides soccer.. whats up w/ that... last year they even gave the arthur ashe award to a soccer player, this year they seem to be showing the sport no love as so far:

The ESPYs are like the Grammys. No one gives two shakes of a rat's rectum who wins them.

There up now, they also now only have on award for golf too. It looks like they are trying to cut back the number of awards given. Not that the whole thing matters much.

Please - ESPYs = awkward female players in high heels. It is some pretty high (and low) comedy. As to one soccer award , again, high comedy when a woman wins it and Mr. Flannigan Esq. comes rushing in with his usual misogynist rants.

There needs to be some kind of standardizing of who is nominated. Either have it just be Americans/MLSers, or have it be a legit best player award. This is just embarrassing.

I am embarrassed. Now I wish they didn't have a soccer category.

I think they make it up as they go along. Which is why I could care less about the ESPYs.
