    Wildcats win 2-0.

Tough game where they did not score in the first half, Western Mass has a good solid defensive plan for this game.

Jen Redmond got hurt in the 2nd half, seemed to be her ankle.

Wildcats unveiled a new banner to display at all home games(pic below)

good crowd 900+, Hot Hot Hot, I was so drenched before the game started that my Wildside had to come off because I was melting.

did the usual talking to people and players, Jenny Benson and Lindsay Tapley were missing along with Christine Latham

    Summary:
NJ: Christie Welsh (Kacey White) 57
NJ: Elisabeth Redmond (Heather O'Reilly) 90

The Wildcats will feature a guest player tonight in United States Women's National Team player Lorrie Fair, who will join the team for tonight's game before attending the USWNT camp next week in Virginia in preparation for the upcoming game against Canada. Fair will join USWNT teammates Cat Reddick, Heather O'Reilly, and Christie Welsh on the field tonight for the Wildcats. Another USWNT player, Lindsay Tarpley, will miss the game due to personal reasons.

Lorrie looked great on the pitch

BTW, Lorrie played the best complete game i have seen her play in a long time. France did wonders for her.

I will post my obsevations another time... but Her passes and crosses were perfect and consistant. She was winning the balls in midfield

The Big Apple team played extremely well, i was expecting a dull 8-0 game and everyone saw some really good soccer from both teams.

Not to shabby considering the Big Apple team did not have a practice together.

    USWNT players

How long will Heather O'Reilly and the other national team players be missing? When's their next game with the Wildcats? My daughters want to see Heather play and I was planning to bring them tomorrow night, but I just saw they won't be there.
    Thanks.

The game with Canada isn't until the 26th, so they're gone for tomorrow as well as the South Jersey Banshees game at Winslow on the 24th. So she'll probably return on the 29th against Long Island (I figure they all would be back by then).

No Reddick, Heather-O, Welsh or Tarpley? No prob.

Wildcats go medieval on the visitors, 5-0 tonight as Lisa Grubb started things in the 37th minute. Kate Sands, Domenique Esposito (a pair) and Kacey White contributed second-half tallies to complete the rout. 'Cats have won 18 in a row at home dating back to last season.

They will be missing sporadically over the next month, they have U-21 and Full national team duties. Check back they day before each game for a list of who will be at the game.

Sometimes I know in advance and will try to post here who is missing.

    Re: USWNT players

Kate Sands really lit it up yesterday and LeBlanc only had to make one save that she knocked over the bar, everything else was easy for her. Esposito was playing well and Kacey is always up for each game(Where is the NT selection for Kacey)

We had a lot of fun at the game and the first half was kinda nervous because there were no goals until the end, then the second half was just fun to see.

Willis made a bad tackle in the first half and got a Yellow card... It was a physicall game and Sands had several fouls that she threw.

I think Wednesday the 29th Heather will be there. the NT is not going to be together that week and I don't think the U-21 are either.

    NJ-SJ Banshees [R]

Wildcats won their 23rd straight regular season game with a 4-0 result over the South Jersey Banshees last night in Winslow, NJ. Kelly Hammond opened and closed the scoring, with goals by Lisa Grubb and Domenique Esposito sandwiched in-between them. With the Central Florida Krush losing their first game to Northern Virginia last night, that leaves the Wildcats as the lone remaining unbeaten in the W-League. I'd think that the Wildcats will have clinched the northeast division by next weekend, perhaps?

Two midweek, 7:30PM games are next at Mercer County Community College; Wednesday against Long Island, then the following Wednesday vs. the Banshees. Wildcats don't return home after the 7/6 match until the 22nd, as they have a friendly at New Brunswick against the Washington Freedom reserves and a 7/16, 5PM start at New Hampshire.

Now the $64 question; when will Kelly and Marinette be back?

The New Jersey Wildcats will have a restocked lineup when they take on the Long Island Lady Riders Wednesday night at Mercer County Community College. Cat Reddick, Heather O'Reilly, and Karina LeBlanc will all be in uniform for the Wildcats. Reddick and O'Reilly led the United States past LeBlanc and Canada 2-0 on Sunday in an international friendly.

No Mention of Tarpley, probably Next week. I will be at the game, hopefully before it starts. i have an appointment at 6 PM, then an hour drive (without traffic)

It is not hard to find me during a game, i am usually in My Wildcats staff shirt, with the camera around my neck

Lady riders are a well coached team and were defensively sound during the game last night. Wildcats won 1-0 off a Beth MacNamara goal (I had her pic on the front page of my website, Karina Leblanc will be up this week, so maybe she will score...lol)

    It is Official

The New Jersey Wildcats added another international star to their lineup today with England National Team star Rachel Yankey joining the team. Yankey – a veteran of the England squad as well as the women’s Premiership – joins the Wildcats just before tomorrow’s W-League signing deadline. She is expected to be available for tomorrow night’s game against the South Jersey Banshees at Mercer County Community College.

WILDCATS REPORT: Yankey should make her Wildcats debut and step right into the lineup at left midfield - a position previously manned by Jenny Benson, who is out for the season with a leg injury, and Tobin Heath, who just returned to New Jersey after leading her PDA Wildcats team to the Region I U-17 Championship. With Yankey on the left and White on the right the Wildcats should be dangerous from both sides of the field while Hammond will try to control the center of the midfield.

What's the matter with Benson and Willis? And are the English girls allowed to go back and play in the fall in England for their club side (Arsenal?) if they finish the season in the W-League? Nevertheless, wow NJ continues to impress with their stacked roster.

Kelly may not be back with the Wildcats, either (Benny had a leg injury, unknown about Willis)

    "Kelly Smith's *former* side"

From the FA.com's take, she's not coming back this season. :(

Kelly will not be coming back, Benny injured her Quad and Willis has an ACL injury

Yes, they can stay with their clubs on the England side

it is a shame that she could not make it back over.... waiting on how things play out for her with the Sept Friendly
