I had heard that the Russian League may be picked up by Fox Soccer Channel. Is this true? It would be great to see that league over here. I will finally be able to follow CSKA easier.

    Yeah.......I like CSKA......what.

I've also heard this rumor circulated here on BS a few times, but I've never seen a link or anything else to support it.It wouldn't be a bad idea for FSC, filling the summer months with RPL action as a complement to the SA leagues/MLS/etc. when the rest of the Euro leagues are taking their break.

Well they don't show Brazil anymore, i recommend u guys get GolTV it covers bith La Liga and Serie A. The thing witht he Russian league is, is their an audience for it. I'm sure that the ethnic eastern europeans c will take interest, but outside of that reigon i don't know.

Well, I don't mind the Argentine games in moderation...I still think River Platte-Boca Jrs. is a vastly underrated rivalry by most Euro fans & they tend to show those two teams a lot on FSC. But FSW/FSC in the past has gone a lotlle bit in overload mode during the summer on the SA leagues, and they show way too many "Best of the EPL/Bundesliga" games, at least in past years. This year, they look like they are stepping up the international coverage and continuing to showcase MLS, which is a vast improvement on an already wonderful channel. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see RPL games there too :)

Truth be told, with RTVOnline working well now & their extensive coverage of RPL games on RTR/RTR-Sport/NTV & ORT, I'm not for want of RPL games to watch during the week. But more, is of course, always better ;)

You don't get into those Bundesliga games? Wow, I do. The highlight of every Saturday in season is getting up a wee bit early to catch those early live EPL/Bundesliga back to back games they usually show.

I still see some Futeboll Brazilero on FSC. As for Gol TV, you need a dish for that. I was thinking of getting it, b/c they also offer Chelsea TV now.

Agreed, i love watching the Superclassico. Those Argentine fans are loko. I even enjoy watching some Mexican and Brazilain football. As for Bundesliga, there are some exciting games, but do i get into it, no. Why, just don't care i guess.

Argentines are loko? :) You haven't seen the Turks. :) Though the Turkish do not actually get the league suspended and police do have some control on the proceedings. :)

Ok, are you just trying to find topics to argue with me on? And yes, Argentine fans are crazy. Met a bunch in my life and they are insane when it comes to football. Are Turkish fans more insane? Don't know. Only met 2 my whole life and they seemed normal.

I was wandering around the topics.
Actually, the best person to ask would be Xabi Alonso - he's been to a couple of matches in Argentina, though it wasn't River-Boca but River v. Someone else and we'll be comparing that to Fener-Gala. :)

Yeah I watched highlights from an Argentine cup math a few weeks ago. It made me happy I live in america, where all there is is MLS. Thats some scary ******** that goes on in their country.

I havent seen a link for the RPL being of FSC in the future. I have just heard from word of mouth. It would be great to have it on there though. It would get a good audience.

    "Lemme tell'ya stori".

My old friends' Gramma usedta start anything mit dat.
A topic near and dear to me life - Footie on Telly.
Due to the nature of me occupation - I comstantly need sumpm as a source of distraction or inspiration - kinda started 8 years ago and clicked , and for 3 years pretty much working from home - so de Telly's on - now dere's no hockey - so it's footie, baseball or a movie - dat's it.
    3 channels show footie only
    FSC
    FSE
    Gol TV

ESPN Deportes shows a lotta footie

    den you've
    3-4 ESPN's
    7-8 Fox's
    Rai
    Eu
    PPV
    in

    and

    streams.

So every day 2 -3 live games are in the background.

Ironically, my favourite league to watch by far is La Primera - high scores, fast tempo, brilliant personalities. A lot of Argies in Europe do not nearly scale the heights of artistry they do at home, may be it's no wonder that both of their titles they won in SOuth America; today's Boca debacle underscores it even more - but having watched Riqueleme, D'Alessandro, Saviola, Angel, Palermo, Schelotto, Barrijo, Serna, Abondanzeri (yeah I know not all of them are even Argentines) is absolutely - heavenly.

Second favourite - EPL - fast, passionate, tight pitches, great atmosphere

Third - strangely enough - League A - even though most of top Frenchmen play abroad - the pace is good, crowds - loud, play - quite artistic, still've stars like Juninho, Wiltord, Saviola, even Jankauskas

4th - La Liga - yes - they've best players - but outside of top 6-7 teams the rest is almost unwatchable, and many times when Real or Barca play the likes of Getafe they hold back - nevertheless - a site to behold.

after that - Brasileiro, Serie A, Dutch League.
Bundesliga bores me, Mexican league is somewhat disgusting - it's almost like they want to see who can kick the ball highest; the rest like Colombian, Ecuadorian, Salvadorean are rarely on.

Obviously international stuff gets priority , yet I'd much prefer Libertadores to CL - more artistry and again passion - I actually've learned tons'o'spanish from the commentators.

Strangely - I don't watch Russian league - I enjoy reading about it and skimming internet pages - a lot of sites have quite competent commentators - I left USSR during a semi-golden age and to me they still play like Saharov and Baltacha; seeing Russia at Euro's was just shockingly disgusting to the point of stomach cramps - again results were secondary to me; the style of play was absolutely lame outside of 1 Alenichev's move against Spain.

With Setanta getting more distro - RPFL might get some Telly time - next year , may be - but it is a HUGE may be.

the rumor comes from the broadcast of the CSKA Moskva v. Sporting Lisbon final where Max Bretos said he was lobbying FSC to get the RPL. There is nothing more to it.

Torpedo, I was watching a review show called "The World Game", i dont know if you have seen it, but it was a cup match. The winner went to the Copa Libertadores. I believe it was that match.

Catching up to this a few days late, but...

The Argentine harcore fans are the most frightening I've ever seen and definitely worth avoiding when in an ugly mood. River got beat at home by San Lorenzo when I went to see them (Cavenaghi was the only one who looked like he could play, missed a penalty but did get the consolation goal) and their supporters were not best pleased. Can't really compare it with the Turks because, obviously, Fener won so their fans were very happy :)
