Turning on the ball and awareness...

    Does anyone have any advice for turning on the ball ( particular moves that are effective for you) and awareness....

    I tend to look whereever im about to go before I even call for the ball and I plan my next play.

    turn side ways when you receive the ball, and there you can see both sides, the ball and the defender, and you can also turn both ways.
    make sure to keep your elbows up.

    Practice turning/falling away/shooting at the same time. In that order...turn, fall away, shoot. This will usually require that you get a small touch on the ball to line it up as you go down, but practice enough and the defender and keeper will never be able to stop a well placed shot with that much quickness.

    As for turns that work. I always use the cruyff and the outside hook. They just seem to be quicker for me and never lose the ball.
