So you're saying Ruud or Kluivert are better?, get out of here

Makaay is marginally a better finisher. In all other aspects van Nistelrooy is a better player. He also generally scores more goals than Makaay and starts over him for the national side.

HA! Adriano disapeared for months in the second half of the season! Makaay is the most consistent striker in Europe.

Also because of people like you who follow this double standard and don't really pay attention to what he does, uninspiring? THat couldn't be farther from the truth...look at the past two seasons! Without him, where would Bayern be?

Come on man, how bad is it considering him one of the great strikers in Europe? Whats the big deal? It is true...

Can you read? Where have i said he isn't one the top strikers in Europe?

What he isn't. Is the following:

    1) The best striker in Europe
    2) The "king of Europe"
    3) The best Dutch striker (arguable)
    4) An inspiring player. (IMO of course)

Of course he's been important to Bayern, they bought him to score goals. He's done just that. However, he's not the only player around that can do so with an alarming regularity. The fact is there are better forwards out there who could contribute even more to Bayern. That is all anyone is saying.

Let it go IORP. If you don't agree that Makaay is superawesomecooluber, SirManchester will lob idiotic responses at you.
Like calling Roberth Huth a pansy for not leaving for Bayern where he'd be "guaranteed" playing time. :p :p

I love reading your posts Nice. They remind me so much of my late grandfather, bless him. Are you sure you don't have any German roots? You are truly one of us, in the spirit of 'every German is a small lecturer'. :)

My grandfather was culturally German. (Although being ethnically as far removed from German as you'd get.) Its no surprise his brothers now live in Berlin.

I understand and respect your opinions of course. You gotta also think about other players being able to adapt to the German game like Makaay did, I don't think its as easy as Roy made it seem. Many players came to Germany or Bayern and didn't quite fit in. Also, not many other strikers would play in the Bundesliga (and this has nothing to do with them thinking of the league's quality)

Also, this thread is mainly about this season's performance also, I'm not taking anything away from Henry or Sheva and what they've accomplished in their careers. I just think Makaay was better than them this season overall.

I'm sorry, but as a player I'd like to start every game, but then again...that might just be me. ;)

So not choosing to go to a club that guarantees you playing time is being a "pansy"? So explain then, why you called Donovan a "pvssy" when he left to start every game in MLS?
Huth clearly wants to force his way onto one of the best defenses in the world. You calling him a pansy is one of the dumbest comments on BigSoccer in the past couple of months. And that's saying something.

Stop exagerating for effect alright man? I get it, you disagree, geez. Donovan is a big time pvssy because he chose to give up instead of fighting for a place in a top European club. He didn't even try, that after going through the whole ordeal of going back and forth between Germany and the States...you think Leverkusen likes all this hassle and BS? It costs them money too you know, investing in such a hyped player and being told that he wants to play for them, then ultimately doing nothing. He has the potential, it showed in a game or two, but he just decided to give up. Europe is where its at, when it comes to top draw football, all Americans kept saying that he is the next big thing and that he'll do this and that in Europe but he didn't do a damn thing.

Don't even compare Huth to Donovan's situation, its nowhere near being the same.....Huth's leaving to Germany does in no way paralel a move to the United States. The circumstances around them were totally different also.

The fact is that in no way can you possibly call Huth a "pansy" for wanting to stay at a better team AND a better defense and fight his way in. That is NOT a pansy move. It would be far easier for him to go to Bayern. He's choosing to stay and fight. You calling him a pansy is dumber than the premise of the last Michael Bay movie.

Real clever man, reeeeeal clever.....seeing as you propbably constitute the audience of his movies and the cliches Schumacher farts out every year.

You thinking Huth going to Bayern would be the easier move is purely your opinion, there is no fact in the world that can make it true....One would think starting every game is a lot harder than playing every 5 games, think about that. Stop turning your opinions into facts because they aren't, you trying to do this just makes you sound ridiculous, let me have my opinion and you keep yours. You give Chelsea fans a bad name, you know that? I hope other Chelsea fans aren't like you....

You are so unbelievably retarded its actually hard to put into words. You are suggesting that staying at a better club is a pansy move because playing every game is harder. Unfreakingbelievable.
Let you have your opinion? You don't understand, do you? When you say something that's incorrect is NOT an opinion anymore. Its just wrong.

    Bottomline:

Roy Makaay is worldclass, but he's not the best.

    Everyone happy now?

He is worldclass, to me he is also the most consistent striker in Europe, sure, according to league goals and the coefficients others have scored more but those people didn't have such a presence in the Cup or European Competition like Makaay did.

Thats all I'm saying, everything is opinionated by the way nicephoras, especially your claims about Huth....nothing is fact. You thinking Chelsea is the better club is AN OPINON! Look up the word's definition my friend.
