    You are senile.

Watch the replay again, the ball hit Nesta under the arm.

Obviously none of this matters now, Liverpool are European champions and the rest is history.

I'm not too bothered though because Milan will be in the final again next year, we're just too damn good not to :)

Shevchenko scored at 30th mins but the ref ruled it out. I dont think it was offside, was it?
Dudek Steped off his line before pirlo striked, they should've repeated the penalty.
Conclusion: liverpool didnt deserve the victory :(

    Re: Liverpool vs. AC Milan

I'm still at a loss for words. I really didnt see any controversial calls, or lack thereof, outside of Dudek dancing about the goal line. I thought that was just appalling how the ref didnt call Dudek out on the Pirlo kick. Come on! The Sheva offsides was so close that well, it's hard to say. Couldve gone either way. I still think he was slightly offsides.

And Ancelotti wasn't too bright either by using Serginho as the first kicker. I could tell that he was going to miss judging by his facial expressions. He just looked too nervous. Come on! Cafu or Maldini, their most experienced players, shouldve taken the opener.

And Sheva. Well. I don't even know what to say except that he completely choked. Maybe it isnt exactly fair to blame him for his point-blank miss, considering that Dudek was in the right place at the right time...but the pk?

Liverpool played a great 6 minutes...and they were pretty damn good in the PKs...and that was enough to win. Congrats to them.

Milan blew it.Plain and simple. It's depressing to see clowns like Kewell and Traore receive European cup winners medals instead of the likes of Maldini, but thats football.

I also wasn't liking Serginho's chances and as soon as he made his run I had a feeling he'd miss. Maldini, after his miss in Euro 2000, has vowed to never take a PK again...

I am disappointed that FIFA can't get the PK think right. It's really unfair that refs are completely inconsistent when it comes to calling penalties back because of goalies coming off the line. Dida did it 2 years ago. The Korean goalie did it again Spain. And Dudek did it today ... blatantly took 3 steps forward. It's really something to look at.

Sometimes they also call players invading the pk box.

It's such an easy call to make too.

None of that matters-Milan up 3-0, what else did they need to do? Sit back and defend...

...but ego took over, and they allowed themselves to be stretched out in an un-Italian manner, AND WHAM...3-3!

They have only themselves (and Ancelotti) to blame. Brilliant result. The greatest story ever told in sport.

Wow. Heart. Dedication. Desire. effort. I couldn't possibly have predicted this final would be so enjoyable and so exciting to watch. all of my anti-soccer friends have a new found respect for the sport now. I don't know about you guys, but I just think this is a wonderful night for the sport in general. The crowd was outstanding, the match was played in good spirits and of course Liverpool FC had an unbelivable comeback. The match had it all and I don't think I will ever see a better final (maybe a match) in my life. I will watch this game over and over throughout the years and look back be proud that I am a Liverpool supporter. Outstanding play by both teams. Milan were gracious in defeat, true class and marks for them too.

I have to give it up to Rafa Benitez. He won the UEFA Cup in 2003 and European Cup in 2005. Very comparable to Jose Mourinho. Any doubts on Rafa as a technician were put to bed in the second half where he basically let the reins loose andmade Stevie Scouser a withdrawn forward and bringing on Didi Hamann to anchor the hole left by the move.

Classic move for a classic final.

Well you cannot totally blame Sheva for the pk...
You have to keep in mind that Dudek was off his line. This really seemed to throw off Sheva's shot. Looking at the replay, he seemed to have slowed down during the kick.

It's funny how every team that wins a CL is ridiculed by either being lucky or a fluke. Suck it Up, Liverpool deserved it.

Congratulations to Liverpool, the European Club Champion of 2005. After watching this I am almost convinced that there maybe a (football) god, after all - especially so after seeing Sheva missing the penalty to lose it, when only 2 years ago he kicked the winning penalty to win the cup.

It was a great match for both great clubs and a joy to watch :)

all the people complaining about the keeper coming off his line are pretty stupid. Yes, it should have been retaken but even if he made it they still would have probably lost. AC Milan had a wide open net to score on in the second extra time. it was not a great save by the keeper but a terrible finish. HE HAD THE WHOLE GOAL WIDE OPEN AND HE WAS 2 FEET IN FRONT OF THE NET! PUT IT MIDDLE OR WIDE NOT AT THE KEEPER! ac milan deserved to lose.

yes, sheva should have scored the second time. and milan had chances they didn't capitalize on. but to say they deserved to lose... they lost, that's football, but they were as "deserving" as liverpool if not more.

the kick where dudek was really off his line was pirlo's. but he was perfectly placed and would have blocked the shot anyway.

anyway, one for the annals, and i hope those who think that the CL should become a beauty contest for the richest clubs will put a sock in it now!

Then again Milan didn't deserve to win the semi final against PSV so I wouldn't complain too much if I were you.

    Congratulations to Liverpool.

and PSV didn't deserve to get through their quarterfinal tie, so by all rights we should have seen OL showing the reds what real PACE and POWER is all about! ;)

    so congratulations liverpool!

Ha! My point exactly. In a long tournament like that any club that ends up in the final will have had at least one lucky win, there's no point in whingeing about it.
