Another local column on the Rhinos stadium funding:

    Mark Hare-Democrat&Chronicle

Actually more of a complaint against the absurdities of NYS politics. Perhaps our legislature desperately wants to be first in something since we're not first in population anymore at least we can be first in taxes paid per capita.

It's a SSS and MLS should move the metros to Rochester and take the best players from the metrostars and Rhinos and make them one team. The Metrostars are a joke this year. They look like coach Bradley's son and a bunch of his highschool friends he plays video games with on a soccer field together. Rochester would have much better attendance than the metrostars in a soccer specific stadium. I heard one reason MLS is reluctant to move to Rochester is because Duboss doesn't want the Rhino players contracts to belong to MLS. Is that true? When the Metros are gone have that guy that wants the KC wizards move them to New York when a stadium is done. i'm living in a fantasy land I know. don't dog on me. As for Paetec park being the second best soccer stadium in America, that is far fetched to say the least.

    Wow... congratulations!!!

Having grown up in New York State (near Oneonta) and having trained with the old Lancers on a few occasions I think this is fantastic...

It looks better than I had feared when the budget started getting cut and when it had to be all built above ground... I look forward to getting over there to see a game or two;-)

Minor correction: The photos are of the westside (Canalside). The Southside is open.

Thanks for beating me to posting the link to the new photos.

    I feel your pain...

...thankfully I have some friends at RIT. I think I'm gonna have to visit and force them to see a game.

Click on to the above website to view a few more photos of PAETEC Park taken today....Saturday, May 21, 2005. They are all taken from outside of the stadium...viewing the newest section...the double decker side of the stadium. I added a few scenic photos of Rochester as a buffer to the older photos. I can't wait to take pictures from the upper deck.

What a gorgeous stadium. Im green with envy!

MLS has got to find an investor, somehow, to get you all into the MLS fold. What a great thing for the league that would be...

Also, the Rhinos have over 5000 season ticket holders. So they already have 2 of the 3 expansion requirements.

I'm impressed by the photos. Aa a former Lancer season tix holder, I never thought I'd see it built. I wonder if the MLS is doable? I'm a believer. I'd almost move back to Irondequoit(Class of '74) for this. (Yes, I can still spell it!)

Stadium looks magnificent! Can't wait to see how it looks with the field in place. What is holding MLS back from putting a team in Rochester?

There's only one thing holding MLS back--a local investor who is willing to pay the expansion fee. Find one and you'll be in the league next season. But there's no way the league is ever going to let Rochester in for free.
