Remember 1950 you dang Brits?? We're gonna score more points on you than a rich millionaire in a brothel! You better believe it, dudes!! Mother country my ass!!

  3. Dude, I'm rooting for USA as much as anyone but come on! Most of Lampard's goals have come when Tiago wasn't even on the pitch. Granted, Lampard plays with other gifted players, but he has scored some spectacular goals from distance.

It will be a great match and we should be thrilled if we beat this team, even though the guys you mention in this post will not be playing for various reasons.

  4. And I'm sure Donovan will score at least a brace, if not a hat trick on May 28. Unfortunately, that will be against Chivas USA.

Yep, long ball with no skill or ability. Which is what makes all those EPL matches such a bore, right?

  5. yes, a new forum for serious discussion of this match between two high-quality sides would be more edifying, although Mikey's sort of entertaining.

  6. I like the thought of bringing the infield in when England is attacking, and maybe working in a few hit-and-runs.

  7. They're both B+ sides.

I was really hoping Bruce would employ the vaunted Chewbacca defense.

Ladies and gentlemen of the pitch, England would certainly want you to believe that their team is better than the US side. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself!

But ladies and gentlemen of pitch, I have one final thing I want you to consider: Ladies and gentlemen this [pointing to a picture of Chewbacca] is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk, but Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now, think about that. That does not make sense! Why would a Wookiee—an eight foot tall Wookiee—want to live on Endor with a bunch of two foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!

But more important, you have to ask yourself, what does this have to do with this game? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this game! It does not make sense!

Look at me, I'm a Coach coaching the USA, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca. Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense. None of this makes sense!

And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberating and conjugating the Emancipation Proclamation... does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of the pitch, it does not make sense.

If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The US is a better side. The defense rests.

I remember watching the brits against the potugalese last year and they looked damn right jaded towards the end of the games. I reckon by the time the game reaches the 5th quarter our wide recievers should be able to blitz them.

    Peace

you arent gonna penetrate our endzone .You wont break through our defensive scrimmage. If landon gets into the paint he wont make the basket.

Huh? You must be Joking or your idea of a good soccer player needs some requalification.
Beckham? C'mon! If England win it they will win it because of Lampard and Terry, Period.

Good suggestion. Although if England is in an I formation, it can be difficult to hit-and-run even if they are blitzing. We need to make sure Donovan reads the blitz early and dumps a short pass off to the sidelines. He can do this if he leans in when he's behind in the count.

this is the best thread i've ever seen. good on ya, mikey. and good on the brits for playing right along.

england's best 11, or actually 13 or 14, are fearsome. rooney is and always will be a better footballer than the GAM, but who cares? the GAM's job is to score goals, so if he does them from two feet out i'll be happy. you could say rooney's a better footballer than RVN too, but does it matter? RVN must laugh his butt off at people saying his goals aren't from far enough out.

US will win the WC when freddy, DMB, lando, gooch, ugo, gibbs, and dempsey breed with sun wen (sp?), brigitte meiner (sp?), mia hamm, brandi chastain, marion jones, serena williams, and beyonce.

if we played a box and one on D and a stockton-malone pick and roll on england, they wouldn't last to the first TV timeout.

I hate to do this, but...

Chewbacca doesn't live on Endor. Nothing does. After the second Death Star blew up it poisoned the atmosphere of Endor and everything on the planet died. Yes, including all the Ewoks. Sad, but true.

Oh, and Chewbacca's dead too. He died defending the planet Serpnidal.

Sorry. But on a good note Han and Leia have kids.

    The Prosecution rests.
Does this mean Englands gonna win??

Are you guys (Mikey10 and the English posters especially included) going to actually say something even close towards regarding what SVE actually said -- or do I have to move this thread to the abyss known as World Rivalries?

    It's up to you guys...

I mean, the humor's great on this thread, but the baiting and trolling is not.

Last year I was in Venice, and in the middle of Piazza San Marco I saw a seagull eating a dead pigeon.

This thread is weirder than that.

Sure, it's easy to do this when you're up 15-love but what do you do when your engine runs out of motor oil and your sled pusher is disqualified for blood doping in the Preakness? All you can do then is to steal some hot dogs from Kobayashi and hope that you can survive the standing-8 count or kill the 2-minute penalty because, buddy, you're definitely behind the 8-ball and no triple Salkow will save your king.

Put on the shift when they get in the red zone, and that will take the bat out of their hands.

I'm not sure what's funnier, Mikey's trolling or the fact that English posters have their panties in a wad from actually taking him seriously. LOL!! Guys, I'll let you in on a little secret -- Mikey is just fvcking with you! Neither he, nor any one else on these boards, believes a word of what he's saying...
