Cappy, he's in the top 15% of English Premiership players. I have a ranking of all Premiership players that includes English and Foreigners.

Then it needs to be updated.
Regardless of who he plays club ball for he's one of the best in all of the country.
    Top 1%
He's a class player, great vision, passing and a fukin thunderbolt of a shot.

Clan, I agree 100%. It was fun giving you guys a little stick, because you are so passionate about your footy. Of course I don't think Joe Max Moore is in the upper class of players. I was hoping that one would make you guys chuckle. Moore is definitely less.

    Probably Ballack.

    Alternatives: Raul, Roy Keane,
Those are probably the top three.
Keano's in spite of his age, he is certainly one of the best players in the world + his leadership

    No-one mentioning Owen?

Euro Footballer of the Year at 22.
    100 Club Goals by 21.
Two World Cups under his belt.
Getting better and better at linking with the midfielders, instead of a pure finisher/poacher.

Pace unmatched by virtually anyone in the world.
    Quality charachter, classy footballer, etc.

A bit injury prone, but if he can stay healthy this season, LFC may very well win the Prem, and you'll all be clamoring for him.

I'd always start with a keeper...keeping goals out is harder than putting them in with a new team, I'd pick a young Peter Scmeichel over anyone.

While I picked Hamman or Gerrard, I have to agree. If I had to pick a striker it would definately be him.

Seeing as no-one has taken him, can I have Viera?

I would never build a team around a goalkeeper or an out-and-out striker - it just unbalances the team. Better to look for a defender or midfielder, IMHO. Also, I'm inclined to go for younger players (26 is just about my upper limit) who can be captain

    My top ten choices:

    1. Michael Ballack - 26 years old, world-class playmaker and good natural finisher, a true team player

    2. Francesco Totti - 26 years old, another top playmaker

    3. Rio Ferdinand - a leader at the back at age 24, can only get even better

    4. Patrick Vieira - 26 years old, one of the world's best two-way midfielders

    5. Tomas Rosicky - one of the best attacking midfielders around, 22 years old

    6. Landon Donovan - 20 years old, lots of skill and getting more and more comfortable in a playmaking role

    7. Ronaldinho - very impressive in the last World Cup, 22 years old; would be higher except that discipline may be a problem

    8. Raul - 25 years old, one of the very few strikers I'd be happy to build a team around

    9. Diego Placente - 25 years old, seems like someone who can take up a leadership role

    10. Song Chong-Gug - 23 years old, plays multiple positions, key player for both South Korea and Feyenoord

    The "boring old Shearer" routine.

Anyone of his fellow pros will tell you he is a practical joker and very quick witted.

THE Model pro in my opinion.
