That was a absolute disgrace tonight from their fans. Dida sufferd bad burns from the flare that hit him. Roma throwing coins at Frisk and cutting his head now this. Action needs to be taken now before someone is killed, and i don't hold much hope of that not happening at tommorows game when juve fans go looking for revenge.
Dida has been treated for serious facial burns!! could be scarred for life . This is serious and should be a long ban for inter .3 years I reckon.
No ban I hope for the nerazzuri, just a fine and maybe the same punishment as Roma...that ref today...hes the one that should be banned.
Sorry Inter 23,i know your passionate about your team my friend but boundaries have been crossed at the San Siro tonight.Just because the ref gives a wrong decision and disallows a legal goal does not excuse that awful behaviour that was to follow from Inter fans.I remember against Oly at Anfield this season in the final group stage when it was 1-1 with only 20 minutes left and Gerrard scored a perfectly legal goal from a volley from 30 yards out but it got dissalowed wrongly, you did not see the Kop throwing 10,000 flares though at the OLY keeper and players
I'm not sure if inter should be banned for their fans being absolute morons. Perhaps they should just play any euro matches either away or in a lockedout stadium. They way they can still play just not in front of their idiot fans. johnlong was right in the fact that if something isn't done then we are going to have serious problems in the future. As a goalkeeper i can only imagine what it would be like to be hit with a flare in the shoulder/face. I've been hit with coins and lighters but nothing as serious as a flare. It's absurd to think that because one goal got called back that Dida could be scarred for life when he had nothing to do with the decision to call the goal back.
Man, don´t be that cruel!!! BTW, I'm totally AC Milan, but I'm conscious of the passionate feelings football brings. I know these attitudes are disgraceful, a strong sanction should be placed, but not a ban!! Attacking players is really wrong (referees is another matter... just kidding ). Everyone is entitled to make mistakes, but of course everyone is also obliged to accept their consequences. Let's just hope this never happens again and be thankful that nobody was seriously injured!!!
Inter deserve whatever they get. I just feel sorry for the players, who from what I've heard tried to clear away the flares and calm the fans, and may be banned now. Still, if that's what it takes to teach fuckwits who throw flares onto the pitch (or for that matter, bring them into the stadium - why is that allowed?) not to do it, then I'm behind it all the way.
And the match has began... Internazionale23 vs. the first of the people Inter shouldn't be banned from all competitions because of something the fans did. Just make them play next years first three CL games away or behind closed doors. And then of course their is the fine.
There have been talks of banning England fans from national team games, why not make Inter play all their home matches in Europe behind closed doors??
Why don't you just say what you're thinking? "Italians are all scoundrels who find new ways to ruin the game at everyone's expense"! How was that? 8) Funny part is everyone on these boards will totally forget about what happened today not long after the cup is lifted. At that point Inter will appeal the ban and probably win; eventually no one will give a fig about Inter because everybody will be too concerned about their clubs affairs and the excitement leading up to the new season. The countdown for indifference has started.
It's a major problem in Italian football, and it's no coincidence that two very high profile games, involving two Italian home teams, where a refereeing decision has proved unpopular, has lead to an abandonment. It's absolutely disgraceful. WHy do Italian clubs, and more importantly, the Italian FA, allow fans to bring bottles, umbrellas, and worst of all, flares into stadiums? It's ludicrous, and only asks for trouble. In England, we're not allowed to, and we get by perfectly well without them, and rarely do you see any crowd trouble here. And we don't even have fences! It's about bloody time the Italian FA, and most European FAs for that matter, actually did something about this horrible part of football, rather than just bleat on about what they will do if it happens again. And if they don't, then UEFA, as Europe's governing body, needs to step in and actually force the national FAs to start acting. Because while Europes FAs are so lax on supporters, games will continued to be ruined, and more players and officials seriously injured.
People are making it seem like they threw grenades when they threw something thats more like a candle that spits smoke.
You dont see any life at the stands either. Dead like a funeral. In Italy there are a wonderful atmosphere at the games. In England Alex Ferguson cries couse it so silent and boring. I take some flairs over an all seater any day.
Oh, in that case it's perfectly ok then Inter have to be banned. It's the only way they'll wake up and take notice of their hooligan problem and actually try and do something about it.
It's hard for me to believe that anyone can defend this behavior. Confusing stupidity for passion. Time to arrive in the 21st century. Enough of this. No one is singling out the Italian fans; they're doing it to themselves. If it takes metal detectors and patting down the paying customers on the way in, so be it. Drop the flares or you don't get in. Same goes with coins. Paper money only at the stadiums. Don't like it? Tough. Don't go. Two ways to punish: Three years of CL/UEFA behind closed doors, or mandate a high (temporary) ticket price for European competitions so that the fans pay whatever fine UEFA justifiably levies on Inter. Don't punish the players, punish the so-called fans.
As I said in another forum, if Dida had been a foot closer to the stands he would have been permanently blinded. Inter should be punished as if he was. This ought to be an inflection point for UEFA and the Italian FA. They need to send a message. The harsher the penalty the better.
yes, i agree. and from now on, if you want to get to your seat before the game starts, get in line approx 19 days before kick off.
Soccernet.com's story on this notes that many flares were confiscated but apparently some got in. "Drop the flares or you don't get in" is too light, try to bring in a flare and you don't get in, or worse, sounds like a better deterrent.
