No doubt about that, especially the second one :p . However, that's pretty much the def of a finisher, no?

Attended both games.Ambersley is probably out for entire spring with as yet ill defined knee injury. Team looked pretty solid for spring .Astroturf caused problems with passing but for a spring game looked crisp[better than some recent preseason games past 2 seasons]. Noshang is going to be a prolific scorer. He has equal or better speed than Jake but is more multidimensional,a better opportunist.Tudela worked very solidly in midfield. Who will be the next Danny remains to be seen, can anybody combine his tenacity, speed to the ball and ball winning ability? Ring is mentioned as a possibilty, have to wait till fall on that.Mellencamp looked solid but didn't get as much time in against Bradley.
Any other comments on the new lineups? Coach F seems pleased on the website postgame comments

BRF, Looking forward to the game on friday. You mentioned Noschang's two
goals esp the second were set up nicely, who had the notable assists and what kind of player is this kid.

First of all, welcome back SLU. SLU & IU have always had mutual admiration. SLU & IU players will participate in the coaches clinic b4 the game, so they'll be pretty darn tired even b4 the game.

Tell the truth, I don't remember who served the through ball to Noschang v. LW, but any of the lads are capable. In fact, the whole midfield looked good (but then, they're all experienced).

Noschang picked up his two goals against Bradley after excellent runs to the goal line by his mates. The first resulted from sustained pressure in the box by the forward 6 and he was in the right place. Same w/ his second goal where Robson made a great run along the goal line, passed it back and it fell to Noschang. Noschang is big, strong & fast. He looks like an Australian rules football player. Like Vijay Diaz, he doesn't look like he's running hard, but he moves past defenders w/ ease.

Jake's goal was vintage Jake - 1 on 3, went through them like a hot knife thru butter.

I should mention that Chirico looked GREAT on Sunday (and very good on Fri). He is on his game, offensively & defensively.

The assist on Friday night was from chirico who also assisted the first goal on sunday as well as brian plotkin tallying two assists for the spring. The midfield has looked strong and experienced and as mentioned above the main question is at the D-mid spot. St. Louis is a great match for the hoosiers to see what is really going on. Both teams will be at a disadvantage physically from the coaches symposium but it happens every year. Should be an exciting Friday night spring game.

Thanks for posting, rep should be duly given. I didn't know if anyone would actually post scores, but I am glad I started the thread :)

NC State might have a decent team this year. I happen to catch a couple of their practices this spring and Tarantini looks like he has picked up a player or two (guessing at walk-on tryouts) that I have not seen before. One of them is really fast not a big fella but gets the job done. He will make a good addition to the team.

Don't play to much into the 2-0 score. The center ref was atrocious. I've seen a few poor centers in my day, but this one was so bad I left with 10 mins to go in the game. The good news was the center ref was being graded by his peers, in the stands. Not much chance for an "A" for him.
