Well, we know what hapenned the last time a team in the CL tried to wind up Chelsea with post-game comments. ;)

I just can't believe how many excuses there are for loosing. Just when you think all the possible excuses have been taken, someone always comes up with new ones.

What the hell is peoples' problem? If the longball tactic is beating you, IT'S BEATING YOU. Learn to defend against it! Jesus, I should be a pro manager.

It's like when my friends and I are playing video games...when someone's winning all the time we jokingly proclaim "no fair, you're using your buttons!"

Please, other teams, quit your whining and learn to defend properly or lose with dignity.

Watching the Chelsea was the first match all season that I thought . . . wow Drogba is great.

I don't know why Chelsea would even try passing down the middle the way DD was kicking Bayerns azz in the air.

so owen prefers style to results, eh?

hmmm. perhaps those 'hargreaves to spurs' rumors make a bit of sense, after all. he'll be a firm favorite at the lane!

How much do you wanna bet that Chelsea will have this article posted in the dressing room for the next leg of the CL???

I think Owen is correct only in the various styles that Chelsea uses vs. Arsenal. Chelsea lay patiently waiting for the opportunity and don't fly up and down the pitch with massive possession and delicious passes. Chelsea play gritty and patient. Hey, I say whatever works! A win is a win.

I utterly agree with Hargreaves, Chelsea Are Not As Good As Arsenal, they rely solely on cheating, negative tactics, spending huge wads of cash, and ritual human sacrifice to achieve success. Well guys, i hope your proud of yourselves. ;)

Hargreaves is a fool if he really believes that Chelsea cannot pass the ball. They have shown throughout the season that they can beat teams on the ground and in the air. Just because they had a tactic for one game that worked very well, does not mean they're a one trick pony. If anything, his statement says that we were a one trick pony because we did not change our tactics when they clearly were not working.

I think we should have a permanent ban on people quoting news from The Sun. Even if they are news saying bad things about our rivals.

Very silly story and silly comments from Hargreaves if those are in fact his words. Owen...dude...you got thumped 4-2 and would've been thumped 4-1 if Ballack hadn't conned the ref. (btw, did anyone watch Bayern's match against M'gladbachican'tspellthename....Ballack had a similar pratfall but the German reffed basically laughed at him.)

I believe we are a better team than Bayern but we certainly didn't show it and therefore Bayern deserved to progress at our expense. Hargreaves should sack up and admit that Chelsea deserve to progress if indeed Chelsea closes the deal on Tuesday.

I actually thought of posting this article in this forum, but with a different headline, given this part of the article:

If you think about it, the headline should actually read:

    HARGREAVES CLAIMS ARSENAL ARE STUPID

A unique perspective but a slightly flawed one I think. I dont think Arsenal would have stood any better chance playing the long ball game. It doesnt suit us as our strikers are not fantastic headers of the ball, imo.

The reason it was so succesful for your mob the other night is that Drogoba excels in that area, whilst Bayern were missing (perhaps) a defender that could have dealt with those balls better. The away leg will tell when said defender (whos name escapes me) may play.

That doesnt alter the fact that Hargreaves comments are a little stupid. Ammusing none the less.

I know, I don't think that its true. However, Hargreaves was giving you credit for using an approach that he saw wasn't working. Isn't that the same as applauding my opponent for trying to fight me with a sword while I was shooting him with an AK-47?
Btw, Bayern were missing Demichelis, who's a DM. They claim when he's back he'll be able to contain Lampard. :)

Personally speaking im looking forward to the away leg. I wish Chelsea every success in the CL for two reasons:

    1) Now we are out I would be happier an English club won it than not and
    2) The more games you play, the more opportunites for injury, the higher our chance of finding 11? points out of the next 18!

    Heres to hope :)

That was Hilarious by Hargreaves. Not as good as Arsenal? Be in the Scottish League? The only smart thing Hargreaves ever did was leave Canada to play for England.

Here's Hargreaves quote: "Arsenal and Chelsea are totally different in the way they approach the game." How is that giving Arsenal credit? If you look past the spin in Sun's headline, he's simply pointing out how Chelsea's tactics differed from Arsenal's in the last round. I can't understand why Chelsea fans are angered by this.

I guess you missed Hargreaves postgame interview. Maxxed forums should have it though, I believe he states that there.
