Kyle Beckerman - This I've got to explain. I went to a Rapids friendly earlier this year. They played some team from Calgary at the Colorado school of Mines. I don't recall Kyle playing the whole game but sometime in the second half, Kyle, playing center mid, was looking to give Trembly a ball to run onto on the left side of the field. Out of nowhere comes this rocket blast from at least 45 yards out hitting the left hand top corner of the goal mouth. The keeper was stunned. He was still looking in Trembly's direction for seconds after the ball was already in the back of the net. My wife missed the goal. She blinked. Without a doubt, the most impressive goal I have ever seen puts Beckerman in my list of favorite players.

I know you must be joking about Kooiman by including him with those "players" - he was a bad man back in the day.

My faves: Pope, Convey, Quaranta, Ralston, Chung...and... Lassiter circa 96'-99'.

I'll second that Beckerman vote too! I was there, that was easily 45 yards, and an absolute f***kin' LASERBEAM it was a charity match versus the Vancouver Whitecaps at the Colorado School of Mines. Easily goal of the year anywhere in any league. The kind of goal that shames all others, and we still can't get this kid on the pitch for decent playing time!!!
