Carrying on the best 11 players theme, who do you think are the best ever? Here's my team:

    -------------Shmeicel---------------

    ---Cafu-------Moore----------Maldini
    -----------Beckenbauer--------------

    Garrincha--Socrates--Platini-- Maradona

    ----------Pele-------Charlton---------

    Subs:

    G. Banks
    Baresi
    Di Stefano
    Best
    Eusebio

Imagine, oh imagine!!!! If only we could go back in time and cryogenically suspend all these players in their prime and put them together - unfrozen obviously!

Socrates instead of Zidane? Charlton instead of Baggio? or Klinsmann?

Klinsmann? Zidane? Please. Neither sniff a best XI of all time.
Neither, however, does Socrates, whom I like as a player.

Very few players could ever play like Zidane. He's an amazing player.

Yes, but not first XI quality. To suggest he should beat out DiStefano is downright insane.

Baggio and Klinsmann were almost unstoppable in their hey day- Baggio is the most underrated superstar of all time and Klinsmann was just extraordinary

Yes, Klinsmann sure was a great diver. There are better German strikers than him. And Baggio, while a wonderful player isn't good enough.

Oh what do you know, Baggio was the 8th wonder of the soccer world and Klinsmann was an automatic much better than Van basten

    More than you.

 Too bad he wasn't in the same league as Cruyff.

Van Basten was better, and there are better GERMAN strikers than Klinsmann.

I just watched highlights of Gerd Muller and no doubt Klinsmann was a better player and the only reason you mentioned Cruyff cause we just finished talking about him, and you therefore know not as much as me

We've had many of these discussions and have made "best of XI" formations all the time. Find one, you're likely to see my lineups there. With Cruyff. Klinsmann and Muller shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence, its an insult to der Bomber.

I know, I was hard pushed to leave him out. Too many amazing players and too little room to fit them all in!

Klinsmann was a good striker but Müller was so much better. Also Rudi Völler the second striker in the Nationalelf (around 1990) was better than Jürgen. IMO Klinsmann had one SUPERB season for Tottenham Hotspurs. After this season he got the Award for Best Player in Premier League...prob hard to win for a german guy

I think Hugo Sanchez deserves to be in the subs list(at least)........He accomplished so many things with a team as important as REAL.....was a five time leader in scoring....second to Di Stefano in the history of the Spanish Primera....the only reason he is pushed aside is because he never won anything with Mexico....which I believe is bull cause we are talking about an INDIVIDUAL not a team....had Maradona played for a team that didn't win anything....we probably would consider him good...but not great.....Sanchez said it himself.....had he been Argentinian or Brazilian he would of gotten a lot more attention and recognition....that was my comment i know alot of you will disagree but it's kool....thanks guys :)
