Never mind, I think I can answer this one. When did blowing an ACL qualify a player as "sucking" ? It must be the American from Germany who'll be attending Wake next season, who didn't attend Wake last season because he blew his ACL last summer and he stayed in Germany to rehab it after surgery. ?
Agree. This sort of reactivates a discussion I was having earlier about Vidovich and his style of play (and Wake's performance as a result thereof). I'm a firm believer that schools looking to book places for themselves in the final 4, year-in and year-out, are going to do it by continually emphasizing defense 1st. UCSB's GAA this past season was something like .56 and IU's was something like .62. Wake's was 1.0. Now, I don't want this thread to deteriorate into an esoteric discussion of tactical play. But my point is that Wake is where they are every year because Vidovich doesn't make defending their highest competitive priority, IMO, and chooses to play a style of ball that, while very attractive, doesn't get them where they allege they want to go. Sooner or later, Vidovich will realize that "elegant" soccer and "effective" soccer are two different things at the D1 level. When he chooses "effective" over "elegant", his teams will gain more traction over the course of the NCAA tournament.
First the coaching has to be held responsible for not advancing to final 4 like Maryland with less talent. And yes this is Bobby Muus on a website talking about Wake soccer. You are an idiot. Second Wake experience was meant to mean bench players are not told to leave like at UNC Third save this roster you posted because many will be asked to leave the team. Like Beeper said Elmar just posted 9 signees with 23 coming back that is 32 player roster. Too many to practice and 18 travel and 14 sitting home. Great idea for a thread Coaches Hall of Shame Either dont recruit the kids or live with your mistake. These guys have opportunity to see the players play have some integrity. Also most of the CASL players on the current roster dont play at UNC.
Also save your statement : "Good job spending money on Alimer Gonzalez and the German who sucks." for some time after the "German who sucks" gets his wheels back under him.
To return this thread to the topic... It's laughable that anyone would think that this NCAA rule is a threat to any of these programs. It only impacts schools where athletes (note I did not say students) leave the university AND have an abysmal academic record. The penalty for paying *no* attention to the academic success of their athletes is one freakin scholarship. We're talking about STUDENT/athletes. If anything the penalty should be harsher. These schools need to start paying more attention to the academic success of the young people they bring into their programs.
Where is everyone getting these scores for schools soccer programs? Could you post a reference to where this information is coming from? Thanks.

I have seen this thread or one simliar to it somewhere else in bigsoccer just not sure were I saw it and the sad part is I am a fan of UNC soccer, but I do have to say that bolowich is nice guy, BUT as being able to bring some very talented players together to create a winning team he is not able to do that. Good news for Bolowich is that the mens soccer program is very low on the radar scope so the very mediocre coaching and program relative to the high profile of the school bodes well for him. As for players getting cut in the spring they all know that going in and they still do it because it got them into Carolina were they would not have not gotten in otherwise.
