    From the Pasedena Star-News article:
Garber also said Major League Soccer could go international in the future. He even envisions combining forces with the Mexican first division, but he quickly admitted, "That's not happening tomorrow.'

Fat chance of FIFA allowing that, unless it is like a CL type joint venture.

From the Pasedena article on Ramirez

Costa Rican Douglas Sequeira and Matt Taylor each scored two goals to lift Chivas to a 6-2 victory over the Fresno Fuego of the United Soccer League on Sunday in front of 5,000 fans at McLane High School.

That's pretty encouraging, 5,000 at a high school for an exhibition versus a USL team? Nice.
