Good morning, I am from Scotland and wanted to as a question. In Holland or Belgium, if you know a referee/linesman supports a particular team would he be allowed to referee games where that team was playing? ANd would the fans be happy about it? Cheers.
The only example I know is about ref. Roelof Luinge. He doesn't ref matches which involve FC Groningen. I don't know why for sure but he's from this region so I suspect it's because he supports the FC. Funny thing is that he requested that himself, it was not decided by the KNVB or anything......
