The League knows that we will support it at a certain level that would provide the Fire with resources to replace Damani and Damani with a contract that would take care of him and his family for life. I can understand Harbour View claiming some compensation for training him, like Sunderland got for Bellion, etc., but shouldn't any contract Damani had with the club have expired years ago. Re: Questions for Peter Wilt Version 5.0 - Gentleman Start your Engines Sell-on clauses are quite common; i think in fact there is one for MLS in the Beasley transfer if I remember correctly (where they get a small percentage (5 to 10%) of future sale). But Damani came from a college, right? Did Harbour View have him before? NCAA tends to overlook these things more if you aren't a football or basketball player (i know baseball players can play minor league ball and come back and play college)...but could Harbour View still hold his contract through his college years?

I guess we have to hope he doesn't suck as much as many think. I don't think we have any particular 'out' for if/when Damani leaves. I think this whole thing was out of the blue and we are going to have to be reactive instead of proactive in this case. The timing is unfortunate because of where leagues around the world are with their transfer windows. Maybe PW can still pull of a buy with whatever allocation we recieve. Maybe he can't. That leaves us with Herron, Jaqua, Barrett, Rolfe, John, Johnson and Boyzzz(Maybe even Mapp) to use up front. I think we Herron is as solid as they come and at least one of those others must step up. It's dicey but we might just have to see what we see.
