I'm thinking Rooney is possible our best player.

    Great win.

And great match for Howard. That goal he let in was a wicket shot, but he's made the save before.

And, remember, Howard didn't have Rio playing in front of him.

    Rooney....worth every cent.

I'm not a fan of his mod style. IMHO he's way too hands on.

He is not that bad a mod. Go to the Pool board and you will see hands on!

Nothing wrong with the modding in the Pool forum, and if you ever go to the World Rivalries forum for a larf you will no that there is no comparing Matt Clark with GPK (I think GK is a good mod, even if he can go OTT some - very rare - times), but if you have something to say an say respectfully both are VERY willing to let you post it and argue constructively. The difference is, while both noards have some very good posters, there's an inevitably stronger element of ABU'ism n the 'Pool boards, to the extent that some of them will openly admit to flaming any ManU supporting poster for whatever they say. I mean, get this... after their 2-0 loss to Southampton a few weeks back, I had the better part of a half dozen Liverpool posters callign me a troll and acting very agressively when I defended Steven Gerrard - whose heart of all things they were questioning - and called Carragher/Hyypia a good CB pairing. Fortunately and again in credit to his mod skills, Matt backed me up over his own peers; there's nothing better 'round here than being in another teams forum and having the mod supporting your opinion over several of that teams posters! More proof that Liverpool can't even ebat United on their own turf ;).

Anyway in conclusion, both are good mods although the Chelsea forum can be a bit bland at times (luckily that problem is being remedied by the likes of Nice, and as of late Eddie & yasik), while the Liverpool board, while mostly very good, has a small (yet active) irritatingly unwelcoming contingent.

Unfortunately, I saw only minutes of the 2d half starting in the 64th minute. I did see RVN's pass and Ronney's run and shot. Beautiful. I was glad to see TH back in goal, but the times that I caught the game, he was not challanged. Besides Rooney, who else would you give a game ball to?

Okay then but I guess I am guilty of kind of trolling to the Pool boards BUT on the Chelsea forum I say against the match vs Everton when they were complaining about the pitch I said that Champions get through gritty times and they have a good chance. I get called a troll for that. Sometimes I dont get along with nice since the argument over the UEFA team of the year and the Chelsea finances.

    barebones

Put this in the Timmy thread:
We looked lacklustre throughout the game but the result was all that mattered. Having said that, we really need to start killing teams off. 2-0's seem to be our trademark this season and today after we scored so early the players seemed to relax a little too much and it was no surprise whatsoever when Pompey came out and scored in the 2nd half.

Was nice to see Ruud back. He's certainly off the pace of it all right now but he'll be up to speed within 3 more games I think. Rooney thrives on having someone to shadow as his first goal showed. He instinctively went to the position where he could slot the ball in, behind Ruud.... and his second was also instintive link up play between he and Ruud (and a brilliant finish) it's important they play from now until Milan and develop the chemistry we'll need.

Right. On to Palace away and hopefully the next 3pts. Time to cheer on the Dippers tomorrow :D

The heat is on. daa naa naa naaa dun naa naa nerr. The heat is onnnn!

Oh yea.. RE: the league: Isn't it nice when we are the underdog and are chasing a team down? always gives that true feeling of what we are about. The title is Chelsea's to lose but we certainly know how to turn the thumbscrews at the right time. If it the gap goes down to 3pts..no matter what mutterings come out of the Chelsea camp they will have to acknowledge the league is open again and it's not only us that have to keep on winning..It's then we'll see if Jose's Psychology degree matches up to Fergie's verbals..

At one point, it seemed like United would score at least 3 or 4, but just couldn't get to that last part of the field. Really, though, it seemed like they were just trying to get Ruud into that goal-scoring rhythm we all like to see. It almost seemed forced, but he did have a fair game. Let's see a better mid-field line-up for the next game. Hopefully, we won't see too much of Phil Neville in the following games, and John O'Shea. Why I can't stand seeing him in the center of midfield, I don't know, but it makes me real uncomfortable. I miss Fletcher. For all his mishaps on the wing, we sure could use him in the center of the field.

As a fan of Tim Howard. I'm glad he got his chance to return as the starter. I hope he will stay as the starter till the end of the Premiership season. Many have said he might be cut loose, but I know Timmy with his days in MLS at the MetroStars. He will fight for that starting spot. That flub by Carroll was very bad and that should have been an easy save against AC Milan in Champions League.

But I will say this. I'm glad to hear he had a good match. Sad one went by him, but glad to hear he was able to hold off Portsmouth till Rooney registered his second goal.

United win today was the only bit of ggod news i have had all day, maybe the last few days. Congrats to Rooney and the club, without Keano we looked shakey but number 8 took care of us.

    Phishy emerges from his hole.

eh  haha. I love an unprovked attack! Wouldn't expect anything less.. not sure where this came from but at least it gave me a chuckle. I love how long you hold a grudge for getting owned. Anytime you want some more just say so, Scrappy-doo. I notice you actually make worthwhile posts since getting your ass handed to you. Long may it continue.

You're not actually the most worthless poster on BS anymore, which is a surprise. Alas your are still a pr!ck as this post shows. I'm glad my words had such a deep affect on you :) now on your way, muppet.

Oh, if you have me on ignore you may never see this  so I'll put this last bit in liddle widdle quotations for you

Okay I guess you all have some problems with each other but I never understood people telling the other person that they have them on their ignore list. I mean I could not give a shite if you put me on or not. Like these Chelsea guys that talked about me being the first guy on the ignore list. I am like who cares and even some fool said that he know the membership fee would come in handy when you dont even have to bloody pay :p. Liverpool fans also and both of them gave me neg rep and I still end up getting more positive rep than the neg rep they gave me in a few hours.

^^It's funny how that fool finds himself all the way out here to the Man Utd board to start a fight isn't it? Also to declare to the whole-wide-world(lol) that he has me on ignore and then comment on my post...concerning my club, in my own forum makes the little turd that more turgid. pardon the pun.

As predictable and lame as he is. His next course of action will be to neg-rep me to show his discontent..hahaha. Like I said to him before, he's not even worth the time because he can't defend himself. Makes me look like the agressor. Sigh.

See, this is the problem with American fans. They've learned about football in a league where the team with the most points doesn't win the title. That's not how it works in the EPL phishy.

To tell the truth I do not think that Phishy is that bad. I have seen worse outside the England boards. South Americans are quite hostile SOMETIMES. But World Rivalries is the worse piss that you would ever see on here.

Regarding the game as this is the game thread. I thought that Rooney Ruud and Ronaldo were good and Heinze is good as always. I think that he and Ronaldo were our best players in the Milan game.

thought we were shite y/day. Apart from Rooney. Heinze was crap as well, kept ending up on his ass, and out of position, maybe something to do with no Rio.

    Rooney

Rooney is so impressive. Not just with his goals, both of which he took well, but with his entire game: the power and accuracy on his shots, his first touch, the way he is able to create space, how well he uses both feet, his feel for the game, his distribution, the tenacity with which he tracks back and plays defense. He was heads and shoulders the best player on the pitch yesterday. Granted, it wasn't a great performance from the rest of the team yesterday, but throughout the course of the season, even good teams will have several games like this. The great teams and great players find ways to win. Yesterday United won because of Rooney. And he's only 19.

Lol poor ZANI, he's gotten all hot and bothered over the worthless cup, and Kezman's tap in. He's now moved to caps and bold text. What was the other goal he scored this season? A penalty kick? LOL Rooney will eat him for dinner.

Hey now, its not the Worthless Cup anymore, its the Careless Cup. ;)

P.S. Maddox was cool up until his 11 worst songs of 2004 article. But then I'm slightly biased. ;)
