hey guys- this place needs some life thought i would post a link to the players taking part in the 'rays first off-season training camp: http://www.bayareacyberrays.com/news/rel_20021025.html from that PR, 6 'rays are hurtin' and won't be training: katia, sissi, clark, lindsey, horvath and quinones, and brandi is with the uswnt. clemens makes her first c'rays appearance too... however, what to point out is that there are several "try out" players on that will be taking part too, they are: 7 Christina Bell (she's back! lol) 17 Lindsey Jones (Notre Dame, i believe she was "cut" during preseason) 19 Joanie Gerpheide (Washington State) 21 Tenley Ulicny (Cal State Fullerton) i notice that gina eagleson's name is not on the list. is she no longer with the team? unless she's with the mexican team, but the PR failed to mention that. nanez is not playing with mexico for gold cup (obviously), and with quinones injured too, it's quite possible that gina is also not playing with the team...who knows? elaine
Gina is still listed on the CyberRays team page as a free agent. Maybe she was just under contract for the balance of the 2002 season, like Erin Montoya. I notice that Lindsey Jones has Gina's number (17) and Tenley Ulicny has Erin Montoya's (21). --Socceroo
We went to the fan party today and saw Bellie but couldn't recognize any of the others here for tryouts. Just now we went on a family field trip to the grocery store (why?!) and ran into Tennli Ulicny (misspelled in the Rays Newletter). Hubby IDed her by her training gear and we greeted her with Son1 still sporting orange gelled hair and Son2 was styling in his sweatshirt signed by Rays, Spirit, and USWNT players (Son3 is sick and basically growled at everyone in range ;( ) Of course I came home and did a search on her name and she was a hotshot for Fullerton in the Big West and has since played for the Mystics. It will be interesting to see what the roster is come spring... BondOne
