The Royal Tenebaums. Its on Royal's gravestone at the end. Although I think you might have gotten the wording a little off.
This is worth checking out, too. Front page in today's NYT. It's about the rise of injuries to youth athletes...not directly about soccer...but a good, important article... http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/22/sports/othersports/22overuse.html?hp
Re: 2/22/05: Died Tragically Rescuing His Family From The Remains Of A Destroyed Sink Hopefully he learned his lesson and other MLS coaches will not make the same mistake.
I'm still wondering what's he done in the last two seasons come po time... But yes, that one has to be his damn fault as well....
That is unbelievable mismanagement to basically screw up your salary cap for 2 years for a player you have never seen play live. Nothing surprises me with the metrostars anymore.
Re: 2/22/05: Died Tragically Rescuing His Family From The Remains Of A Destroyed Sink sorry... i didn't notice it got cut off (quote was too long)
I just thought the sarcasm was in that his 'dream' was more than a touch less appealing than the accomplishments he's already achieved. I only find it suprising that the NY would use the column space to undercut what's basically the routine PR fodder. I don't see that everyday.
Re: 2/22/05: Died Tragically Rescuing His Family From The Remains Of A Destroyed Sink I agree, but I believe Nowak was signed the same way.
Are you kidding me!? To sign ANY player without ever having actually watched them play live is just stupid, let alone one that is going to eat up so much of your cap that if he turns out to be a bust it hurts the whole organization for two years.
Re: 2/22/05: Died Tragically Rescuing His Family From The Remains Of A Destroyed Sink is the bigsoccer username/password not working anymore? help?

the guaranteed contract alone should have made Bob be more careful... or that part of the idea for signing the guy came from the ever wiser Nick.... Hope Rey does perform this season, but still is hard not to be annoyed at learning this.....
From an outsider's POV, I got the impressiong that he was doing good things in training but couldn't put it together for game time. Can anyone who has watched training confirm this?
