Is the Fan Pass already available in the Euro 2024 app, and if so where about do I find it? I logged in with the same email I used for my Ticketing account, but can't see it anywhere!
As long as you do not use an IC/ICE train. Also, trains will be going 24 hours, but their intervals will be spread out more after midnight. A lot of questions about journeys and itineraries can be answered by going to the DB website and doing a search.
Never been to Cologne, never been to Dortmund. Now I have managed to get tickets to Hungary - Switzerland AND Italy - Albania on the 15th (well, second match not yet on my app, don't know if same date matches will cause an issue). Any others got tickets to both? Now, I have already ordered, but I just want to hear that is realistic: So, kickoff in RheinEnergieStadion is at 3, match ends around 5, maybe even 5.05 with these new crazy VAR add-ons. My train leaves Köln Messe/Deutz Gl.11-12 at 6.50 PM. It takes 1 hour 43 minutes to walk there, according to Google Maps. Is that doable? I will probably try to find a taxi when I have walked for like 30 mins, but... Any advice? Also, if train is accurate, I will be in Dortmund at 8.03 PM, 53 minutes before kick-off in Westfalenstadion. Takes about 40 minutes to walk there... Gotta love the rush.
Lots are doing both and it should be straightforward. I'm planning on using public transport. Walk to Mungersdorf S Bahn station (27 minutes) and then RB train from Koln Messe Deutz.
I will be in Germany for 10-11 days and will be In 3 different city (Munich, Leipzig and Cologne). I have matches on 3 days and the rest I plan to visit around the city I will be in. Any suggestion on the best pass to buy to travel in all those city. I read about a pass (Deutschlandticket) that cost 49e that I could use in all cities in Germany (apart of ICE trains). Do you think It's a great offer for me?
The Deutschland ticket only permits travel on Regional trains, which would be an onerous way to travel between the three cities you've mentioned. For example, a 4 1/2 hour direct train from Munich to Cologne on the high-speed ICE (not covered by the Deutschland ticket) vs an 8-10 hour journey on regional trains with 4-5 transfers. There is a discounted Euro 2024 interrail pass available if you are eligible, which might be worth considering. This will provide you with some flexibility as you don't have to book your journeys in advance. There is also the option of the DB ticket for point to travel from 29.90, if they have not been sold out already. Hi All, It seems like we are going to have an extra room in the following dates: June 14th-19th Dortmund Hampton Inn June 19th-24th Stuttgart Hampton Inn July 11th-16th Berlin Hampton inn Please PM if interested.
I'd recommend that you buy the Deutschlandticket for a month. It saves the hassle of having to sort out the city day tickets etc, whilst in any of the cities, you mention. Besides, if you decide to use the time for some half-/day trips to Neuschwanstein/Salzburg (from Munich), Dresden or Saxon Switzerland (from Leipzig) or Düsseldorf, Wuppertal etc (from Cologne), you can just jump into a non-IC/ICE without having to bother about ticket validity during the 6-7 non-match days. Whilst travelling between those three main cities of interest, I suggest that you look up www.bahn.de for connections and just purchase the IC/ICE part of your journey. Rest are covered by the DE-ticket.
If you do not plan on doing any exploring outside of those three cities, I would just buy individual tickets to travel between them and then city passes to explore when you're in those cities if I was you. If you do plan to take any day trips, you should buy an Interrail/Eurail pass depending on which one you're eligible for because it will save you some headaches. I would concur that the Deutschland pass would be a pain with only being able to ride regional trains.
Thanks foy your answers! I forget to mention that I already booked ICE trains between the 3 cities. It’s more for the transportation in each city and maybe little outise rach city.
Usually the city tickets cost about 8-10€ per day and are limited to a certain area around the city. If you want to travel outside of that range, then you will have to buy extra tickets. Do the math. Depending on the number of non-match days you wish to do your siteseeing, you can make the choice quite easily.
I would just book as you go then. Munich lets you buy a day ticket to ride around the city. I assume Koln and Leipzig do the same, but I did not try either when I was there. Plus, if you have one match in each city, you do get a free 4.5 days of transportation.
Hi guys. Just a couple of questions of you don't mind: 1. I'll be staying at Essen and would be heading to the Dortmund stadium. Would the route qualify under regional and therefore the 36 hours Fan pass would be applicable? 2. If yes, do I need to book ahead of my travel or is there a train service every regularly for the route where I could just hop on? Thanks in advance.
1. Yes you’ll be covered. 2. There are frequent trains. Check https://int.bahn.de/en/ for timings. No need to book just hop on hop off.
I’m getting the train from the dam into koln and staying on the fri sun and Monday night but atm still looking for the Saturday night as will be hoping to get to gelsenkirken for the England Serbia game . Does anyone know where the vast majority of England fans will be stopping on the Saturday night ? Also anyone got any news on tickets for the Hungary Swiss game ? Cheers
In my fan Pass, the matches I will attend and the hours when the Travel Pass is active are displayed. I will be going to matches every 2 days, so for 12 hours, I won’t have the Travel Pass. Does anyone know if I can use public transportation during that period?
Yes, but you'll risk a fine if you don't buy a ticket. The fan pass is more sophisticated than I expected.
Apologies all if this has already been covered elsewhere re: fan pass and I’m being thick. I have 2 match tickets, but need to transfer 1 ticket to a mate once he gets round to downloading the ticket app. Question I have is following the transfer of the ticket will he subsequently have access to his fan pass in his own name (via the Euro App) or will he have to log in using my details….as the original purchaser as the fan pass just sits with 1 person e.g me? Anyone else gone through this process yet? Cheers
This might be useful for those yet to book their train travel within Germany, and require more than what the 36-hour travel pass offers. https://int.bahn.de/en/offers/bahncard/fan-bahncard25-2nd-class DB discount card offering 25% off all DB fares over a 3-month period for 19.90 EUR
I was going through all "event guide" city pages on the EURO 2024 website and noticed that only fan zones in Berlin and Gelsenkirchen aren't offering live viewing of all 51 games, but rather just the games in that city, German games and final stages of the tournament. I find this really strange, anyone know the reasoning behind it?
