Football is so crazy sometimes, that's what I love it too. Iga is doing their worst NL1 season since JFA relegated them and Viama was an unstoppable force since some years ago. Well, not that I complain :p

Sara Ito with Turbine Potsdam promoted to 1.Bundesliga after a 2:1 win in Ingolstadt. Chihiro Suzuki and Akane Miyoshi missed promotion with Meppen by 1 point.

Last match of the Italian season and Napoli win the right to compete again in Serie A Femminile in the next season through a quite boring 0-0 draw vs Ternana. Miharu Kobayashi played the full game and, although I don't have any actual stats at hand, it seems to me that she must have had a record playing-time in Napoli this season: I can't really remember any game that she was sitting on the bench for even a single minute, except the one from last Sunday when most of the team were rested for the upcoming double-header play-off vs Ternana.

So the question is. The goal that Hata Miyu scored was called an own goal but the one Orcas Saito scored wasn't?

WE league is considering to bid to host the 2024-25 Women’s Asian Champions League Semi-final and Final in Japan.

They have also announced that no new clubs will join the WE League next season despite official interest from some Nadeshiko League clubs. Chairperson Takata said “There is the issue of creating a system that contributes more to the development of the clubs before we add more to the league. We have received a notification from the AFC, and the WE League is currently working on establishing club licenses.”

I think this is a good direction. WE League is still a "young" league, so first of all the league management and clubs should focus on sustainability and further professionalization of existing structures and making the games more attractive. The growing number of fans at WE League matches is of course good... but let's be honest, it's not hard to understand players wanting to go to Europe and the USA. Women's football is still a niche sport in Japan, while overseas, huge financial investments and the accompanying marketing have elevated this sport above many other sports disciplines over the last decade.

As much as I actually like Colombia's senior team with Linda Caidero, Mayra Ramirez and overall rise of their women's football in recent years, they are going to suffer today. :D
