As the uber-liberal activist of this gang, I usually delete them just to prevent myself from going on a rant.
I knew I shouldn't post it, but did it anyway. Not for political reasons - I just couldn't resist the "indicted into the Hall of Fame" wordplay. Apparently I'm easily amused.
Go back to sleep Joe... EDIT: But to stay on target, that run Drini had for a bit there with the Gs was awesome to see. He really was the only light in the galaxy during that very dark time. Also, didn't realize PL had a hall of fame.
Maybe the player I most wish had been on a good Galaxy team. We really wasted his last few really good years. Glad to see he still has a fondness for his time here.
Adam Saldana signed with a newly promoted team in Norway In Norway's top tier, newly promoted KFUM have signed Adam Saldana, whose contract with the Galaxy expired in 2023. For the LA Galaxy II,, Saldaña was named Los Dos’ 2023 Defender of the Year https://t.co/T7uNUxGWuG— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) March 28, 2024
This is behind a paywall, but it's a great article about Bradford Jamieson IV and his coaching career with Philadelphia Union II. If you’ve been around MLS long enough, you might remember former @LAGalaxy starlet Bradford Jamieson IV. He’s now an assistant with @PhilaUnionII. I talked with him about why he came east and what he hopes to teach the next generation of prospects:https://t.co/f9F7640WXS pic.twitter.com/MkMaVJjfhN— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) April 5, 2024 Yesterday, I posted a tweet about Riley Dalgado sharing the MLS Next Pro Rising Star of the Month award with fellow LA-Native Edward Davis. Eddy is playing on the Union II with BJ coaching him and that's probably no coincidence. They have a lot of shared experiences in different periods.
I agree! I seem to recall him getting injured at the U20 WC and never quite recovering his form, but perhaps I am confusing him with someone else.
Yes. A scary concussion - his third in a year and a half - that led him to be taken to the hospital. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/brad...la-galaxy-following-scary-injury-u-20-world-c He suffered another one with the Galaxy in 2018 (a collision in training with Skjlevik) that was bad and kept him out for almost two months https://www.latimes.com/sports/soccer/la-sp-galaxy-jamieson-concussions-20180216-story.html He kept playing for a few years after that (his Mom's quote in the LA Times' story suggests a little bit of denial), but never got his career back on track
Jorge Villafana officially retires (if you watch the whole highlight video, he does have a few happy clips from his Galaxy time at the end) After 15 years of playing soccer at the highest level I have decided to retire from the sport that has given me so much joy and fulfillment. I’m proud of the trophy’s I have won the goals I have achieved and the friends I have made along the way. Thanks you soccer! pic.twitter.com/rd1Ty6y2Vi— Jorge Villafana (@JVillafana19) April 18, 2024
Carlos Harvey is a bit old for this level (and he had player of the week games for the Galaxy 2 in the USL Chanpionship, a level up), but still nice that he is doing well Breaking club records. 🥁Carlos Harvey is our Player of the Matchweek! pic.twitter.com/8sSNl77dkT— MLS NEXT Pro (@MLSNEXTPRO) April 23, 2024
TBH, as controversial as he is as a commentator for games, I respect Taylor Twellman for the way he talks about Concussions. Of course it did end his own career early, but its one of the things he's passionate about I absolutely agree with him.
Sierra Canyon hires Rafa Garcia to be next Boys’ Soccer Coach. Garcia is an Academy Coach for the LA Galaxy and former Assistant Head Coach for CSUN’s Women’s team. I guess this could be classified as a Galaxy Alum if being a Galaxy Academy coach counts: Brian Kleiban named manager of the new USL League 1 team in Antelope Valley https://www.latimes.com/sports/soccer/story/2024-05-16/lancaster-soccer
Based on what i have read about Brian Kleiban, firing him was one of the best things DTK did and Chris Klein agreed to.
Former Galaxy standout Kevin Cabral had a brace for Colorado last night. Rumor has it after each goal he screamed “Yes, Kevin would have and did score that!!”
sounds like Colorado has "uncoached" Cabral from the "instincts" he had under Vanney and if my math is correct he had 6 goals in 61 appearances here and as of right now he has 5 goals in 40 appearances for the Rapids, sure sounds like an improvement albeit a small one
to be fair I don't think he ever even had a multi-goal game with us so that by itself is an improvement.
Mexican -American Efra Alvarez with the opener for Mexico! He was a bright spot for Xolos to close out their season. Good to see him do well here.— herculez gomez (@herculezg) June 1, 2024
The change to Xolos did this dude good. Look ate the shape he is in. He wasn't like that here under Vanney. That ended up being the winning goal.
Sometimes all a player needs is a change in scenery to spark a change. congrats to him on the International Goal, too
