1 minute left in extra time and Leeds with the long throw in, which (of course) comes to nothing.
Waste of an effort close to goal.

Leeds lose and stay down for another year.

    Southampton go straight back up.

    Good for them.

Atalanta need to lose or draw for Roma to have a chance at Champions League.

Well I was (mostly) a neutral but coming in 3rd I had hoped Leeds would show up on the day. They did not other than one rocket off the crossbar that bounced away. I don't even know where Southampton is. Gonna go off to the Google Machine and find out I guess?

EDIT: near Portsmouth on pretty much Southern coast of England and the Channel.

OK so I'm going to agree that regular flap jacks sit like a TON of bricks in my stomach and I have not had regular flap jacks in many years. Maybe it was growing up in Pennsylvania where Buckwheat flap jacks are a "thing" but they are much lighter than regular pancakes and of course not wheat at all but actually made from beets (beet flour) which sounds gross at first but they have a very nice nutty and flavorful quality without the heavy after effects. I had 2. Bob's Red Mill make a nice buckwheat flour. Seems like in my youth a person was suppose to add yeast and make them (the batter) the night before but I just used baking powder instead and they were quite fluffy. Actually they are gluten free accidentally I think?

One thing I will say about Kentucky is I sure do miss up to 3 or 4 free bunny ear Spanish language channels where I can watch free Liga MX gran final games for free. I looked around but nothing without paying. I hope someone is enjoying that.

Also when the Champions League semi final was on I missed the entire game because of tornado warnings interrupting the broadcast. Meahwhile, same sh*t different day here but will they interrupt NASCAR and dudes driving in circles around a track? No way in HELL!

On Sunday, last minute decision, went a watch the home open for River Light men's team. Wasn't bad. About 100 - 150 people in attendance. Unfortunately no tailgating. I'd check out a few more of their games this summer.

  8. I wish I was closer to watch them. They have at least a half dozen recent Fire FC Academy grads.

They outplayed St. Charles(Missouri) in the first half and took a 2-0 lead into the half. Then they were outplayed in the second half and fell behind 3-2 but tied it up in the 90th minute. Some of the players are pretty good.

  11. That June 6th game against John Dorn's new team Peoria looks like a good chance to take a ride to West Aurora. I also promised myself to see OG Fire writer Ivaldo Basso's Joliet team this year too.

I am a season ticket holder for Peoria City, a couple of benefits to make it worthwhile. The teams mentioned above are in the same division so glad to hear some news. I can tell you, at least at this point, Chicago Dutch Lions are not very strong. Peoria has played them twice and won 4-0 and 6-0. The Joliet team plays here Wednesday.

Not soccer/football, but right now I’m watching the PWHL final deciding game and (soccer/football related) probably will keep this on the big screen while the Fire play on my tablet.

The Busiest Matchday in USL History

Settle in, everyone, and get ready for the Busiest Matchday in USL History.

    By the numbers:
    • Championship: 10 matches
    • League One: 4 matches
    • League Two: 37 matches
    • W League: 21 matches
A minimum of 1,584 players will appear for 142 senior teams and two developmental sides (New Mexico United U23s and NC Courage U23s) located in 35 different states. Florida leads all states with 20 teams in action, followed by Michigan (12), California (10), and Virginia (9). New Jersey, North Carolina and Texas each have eight teams set to play June 1.

Yes, and "my" NPSL team is playing tonight, but I won't be there.
The Wisconsin Conquerors are a Chicago Fire worthy 0-0-3 for 0 points, with 1 goal scored and 11 conceded.
Hey, at least I was able to see the 1 goal scored (a stat padding penalty in first half extra time).

Tonight they play a team called Sunflower State. Sorry, the Group A leading Sunflower State.
Yes, that is a real name for a real semi-professional men's soccer team.
They are apparently from Overland Park, Kansas.

UEFA Champions League already has a pitch invader in the 1st minute which inspired a second. What ever happened to streaking? We as a society need to bring that back. I mean, if you are going to run on a field like an imbecile and get arrested you might as well be naked because that increases the criminal trespass charges to indecent exposure as well and well, nudity is infinitely more humorous.

OK so maybe that would have been offside on VAR but dang...After seeing Dortmund squeak by Man City for two games 1-0 while countless shots ping ponging off the woodwork I didn't think this game would even be close let alone one way traffic in Dortmund's favor. I love it thought!
