As that corner developed and someone was playing with their shin guard and MacMath was strolling backwards I actually shouted "what the hell is going on?!" and then Palacio just slotted that ball home so, so coolly.

Bring up McMath, everyone KNOWS its a regular corner. Take it short, confusion reigns as McMath runs for home. Who covers who, ball heading to goal WOW!

Palacio slowly redeeming his awful play earlier this season.

Nice comeback. I am reposting my proposed thought experiment from the recent draw against the LA Galaxy.

By the way, that pass from Crooks to Gomez on Luna's goal? As good as it gets.

It was so well weighted, just perfectly set up for Gomez to be able to square it to Luna.

Can we just talk about what an amazeballs goal Anderson Julio's was? He was 100% set up to put the ball in the far corner, keeper anticipating that very reasonably, everyone in the stadium and on TV thought that. Then, he somehow finds the room behind the flying defender to put it in the near upper corner. 99 times out of 100 that is side net. Look at the replay and the amount of angle for error he has is tiny. Just phenomenal.

This team is going to give me a heart attack. Great fight to salvage what should've probably ended as a 2-1 win.

Bench MacMath unless Beavers somehow becomes worse. That's 4 points now that MacMath has cost us

The team's social media posted a view from behind the play that really highlights what @BalanceUT observed.

Lots of credit to Pablo for his mass substitution in the 2nd half. In his post-game interview he said that it was hot and muggy, the guys’ batteries were getting low and he felt that a major energy boost was needed.

Was there a deflection on Palacio's goal? Looks like it on the angle from behind the goal.

Yes, he put it straight down the middle. Almost as if he was anticipating a deflection.

I really expected RSL to come out and dominate, which they kind of did, but I thought they would get some goals for their efforts.

This is a good team that needs to add some serious depth though. I get the thoughts on MacMath not being up to snuff but Beavers may not be the answer. We shall see though. Gavin should get the start on Wednesday, and if he doesn't get burned like he did in New Mexico he might get the next start too. I don't think that will happen because I don't think that Beavers is in any way an upgrade over Zac.

I'm sure he will get the chance to prove me wrong.

We definitely need a player to spell Chicho or he is going to get ground down way before the season ends.

Matt Crooks is coming along. Slowly, but coming along. That pass to Gomez was sublime. He has more of that in him. I have seen people say he is slow but I don't see that. He's not fast but he's a player that finds places and spaces to be all over the pitch. I don't think that he is 100% happy about how it is all going so far. That is ALL speculation from body language and some of his reactions during the game. I think the more the ball gets run through him the happier he will be but I don't think that is the plan so he probably needs to do a little more adjusting.

The biggest weakness is the back line for RSL. Right back and both CB positions can be quite questionable compared to the rest of the team. Ojeda and Eneli are pushing to become the best tandem in the league if they keep improving.

I would take upgrades at RB, Glad, & Vera. Maybe not all of them but definitely at RB and a new, experienced, CB would go a long way to making this a real MLS Cup contender.

Still work to be done but this is a really good "team" this season.

I really wasn't surprised with the comeback. Especially after the first goal. I liked that Pablo stayed with his subs and let them get out there a fight. Maybe some of the subs get a start in Seattle as way to reward their efforts. Wouldn't be surprised if Pablo sends a message.

    We shall see.

RE the back line, I think Glad and Katranis are solid. Last night Brody made the excellent goal line save. However on the last FCD goal he wasn’t running with any urgency to get back and help. I’m not sure he would have impacted the play had he got back there, but we’ll never know. He also tends to keep opposing forwards on-side. I’m surprised other teams don’t take advantage of it. Quinton’s play resembled his New Mexico United game.

Looked to me like Brody was the outlet to whom MacMath was trying to pass, based on how he (MacMath) opened his body on the flubbed whatever it ended up being. Not to defend him overall; it's an upgrade spot for sure.

Glad has had a great year though, I don't know what more we'd want of him or expect from a player we brought in.

We have 2 DP spots open, what spots actually need a DP upgrade? Left wing? Then let Luna and Crooks fight for minutes at AM?

for RB, we should go get Herrera back. Kreilach feasted on his crosses into the box, can you imagine what Chicho could do on the end of those?
