Won the league and top scorer... ilk golü atti icardi ama bu gol ile tamamen oyunu kopardı.. en kritik yerdeki kaliteye bakın.. icardi hakkında hadsizce konuşanlar vardı.. aman ha.. o bizim herşeyimiz, kalitesi çok yukarda.. gol kralı da oldu.. iyi ki var.. pic.twitter.com/e5p5L91WMq— fabio (@kaptanfabio) May 26, 2024
Comparing Barco and MacAllister's trajectory in Brighton, they had similar amount of minutes in their first half season (Barco with 305 minutes and MacAllister with 351 minutes) In MacAllister's first full season at Brighton, he accumulated 1,114 minutes (around 12 full games) and 2,114 minutes (around 23 full games) in his second full season. I feel that Barco will be dropped from the CA squad and I don't think Brighton will let Barco go to the Olympics with a new coach incoming. I imagine that Barco and Estupinan will share minutes in the 24/25 season but hopefully Barco wins that battle. Obviously, MacAllister and Barco are different players, with very different circumstances, but hopefully Barco's trajectory is similar to that of MacAllister.
Well, physically as well. Mac was also physically ahead. Colo looks like he’s in secondary school. He needs to put on muscle. I believe most of us have high hopes for the kid. He seems pretty determined but let’s hope he gets into that weight room.
Lautaro is officially the serie A top scorer. Its the 10th time an Argentine player achieve this. Some interesting notes about golden boots... Serie A Argentina = 10 times Brazil = 3 times La liga Argentina = 15 times Brazil = 6 times EPL Argentina = 2 times Brazil = 0 But off course then you look at Brazillian player price tag compare to Argentina
Iccardi is a great striker, he just made too much noise outside the field and too many conflicts within his clubs and with his transfers...a pity because it's always good to have a classic 9 avaiable.
Let's keep him with us , It doesn't matter that much, both were argies with double citizenship, Trez on contrair was the other way around. PD: Guaita later in 37 won the Sudamericano ("Copa America"), it's an odd case were he won a WC prior to that with Italy on contrair to Sivori that won Copa and later played for Italy in a WC.
Yea and Di Stefano La liga Pichichi is actually counted as Argentina instead of Spain. He also won Copa America for Argentina but nothing for Spain .
Argentina has the best midfield in the world, the best depth and best potential future from their youth. Yet people are still trying to prep up Spain, Germany, France, England, Portugal as all having better midfields. Such a joke. England on paper and performance has midfield close to Argentina, but the difference Argentina put theirs to action already and dominated the "the best team in the world" - France. Off note: Funny how Argentina had the best offense in the world between 2008 and 2015, but just because you have the best doesn't mean you'll accomlish anything. Tevez, Dimaria, Aguero, Messi, Diego Milito, Zarate, Icardi, Lamela and more. Just because you have the best, doesn't mean anything. We know well as fans. Now our midfield is stacked and our front is more thin, but still have quality at the front.
England has been fav since Lineker's day. They only reached two finals (1 WC , 1 Euro) and both times they had home adventage. Germany actually won all their qualifier games leading up to WC 2018. Off course once they're out at group stage people tries to defend them and saying they're in transition lol Also, how do you explain Spain WC run historically? they're mostly second round and first round exiter, QF at max. I dont know why Portugal should be mentioned, their achievement is on same level as Greece, Denmark, Netherlands.
I dunno if we have the best mid in the world. What we have is a team that uses players capable of playing both "sides of the game" , the offensive and the defensive side and a great generosity and comittment bewteen them. We have a number of players that are on this current new tendency of the "all around" jack for all trades sort of midfielder with talent: Macca and Exequiel mostly (this last one very injury prone), I really want Palacios to shine in Copa America and leave his injuries behind to take a step further in his carreer. We have some promising fellas in more or less the same mold: Varela, Equi, etc....I don't have much faith in what will happen with Nico Paz (he really looks great Redondo alike, more than Fernando's actual son), Carboni, et...yet being younsgters in such roles in such huge clubs that buy players the whole time ain't the best enviromen or recipe to succeeed. We still have some veterans that even not exactly being as great at Club level as they could have been, they are great for us in these all around game like De Paul and Paredes. We are really lacking in the dribbling department if some of the current very young fellas do not develope into a major talent, obviously not necessarily Genius (Messi) or Phenom (Di Maria) alike, nor all around offmids/Forwards CRACKs like Kun and Tevez. All of them capable of deciding a game by their own and with a build capable of handling heavy punishment. The ones that are appearing, seem talented like Ecehevrri, but too lightweight, more in the mold of Aimar, Dybala or Pastore, and so far not as talented as those three looked when appearing. But we'll see what happens with Echeverri and Franco and some of these new fellas, these are very strange global times, with no real time to develope more correctly. Garnacho should aim to be our next Di Maria (even if I'm still not used used of having a player in a way like we usually are robbed). He is very young, yet he has to balance his head: too much ego, too soon, too eager to shine while playing in a very disorganized way, yet really really young under the biggest spotlight. Going back to mids and all around players, I would really like for Scaloni to at least try Zenon, he looks really promising, not only becuase of his talent, mainly because of HIS HEAD. He is a very mature and intelligent player even in some very messy scenarios but again he is another all rounder mid (clser to an 8, flank player)...not precisly a new Riquelme/Veron (with their diffs) nor Aimar/Dybala/Ortega (with their diffs) type. I'll love a more "classic" 10, of either type or a combination of both a la Diego/Messi...I'm not that mad, not expecting a Genius so soon, but the sort of player that combines bulky body, dribbling and organizative traits with at least great talent to boot. Or at least a more forward oriented bulky CRACK like Kun or Carlitos...we'll see what future has in their hands.
Welcome aboard. Looking at the midfielders coming through I think we have incredible depth. We do have dribblers. These kids will mature and grow stronger. It's always the way with Argentina youth. The technical skills are first and foremost, the physical attributes catch up later. There have been plenty of smaller low COG types thriving in the 'top' leagues in Europe. I've no fears Diablito will thrive. Paz just needs to escape Real Madrid because the club will just buy in players for his position. The other sole concern would be finding the next nine. There are pibes with promise but no one has laid a clear marker down. Which brings me to Icardi who with Sampdoria did lay that down. Scored an immense number of goals as a youth. It's a crying shame that because of off the field antics he barely featured for the seleccion. He was incredibly gifted as a striker with his movement and finishing and should have been an international star. We could have done with him in 2014 and 2018 given that Higuain was so mentally fragile. Icardi was the opposite. Alas that will always be one of those what if's. I'm sure the positive impacts of seeing Messi, Mascherano, Romero and Martinez is seeing kids trying to emulate these heroes of theirs and over the next few years seeing these transmit into senior roles. Emi must be making playgrounds and poteros resound with the cries of I want to be the keeper.
There were few reasons why we failed to win trophies while producing the likes of Saviola, Tevez, Aguero etc ... Preasure to emulate Diego, not winning major throphy in almost 3 decades, bad manager decisions , and bad luck. Even with Higuain missing those sitters in 3 straight finals, its still ridiculous that Di Maria somehow gets injured in those 3 tournaments. Also, before Scaloni era, we're lacking mobile midfielders & forwards who can run constantly to fill spaces and pressing (Mac, RDP, Enzo , Lo Celso, Julian). With midfielders like Gago, Biglia & Enzo Perez , our creativity were very much limited, hence team with strong midfields like France, Croatia & Germany will always wins the ball.
I get your point, yet it's not that simple, it would require an entire thread to evaluate what wasn't done that great in prior generations, plus there is always the presence (or lack) of timing, that at some point can alter any course of action and it's so influential in life and of course in football, more in KO Cups.
Thanks! Indeed we would always have some prosimiing kids coming, even if not know, there are already tales about some wonder kidos in Europe and down here. Yet my post was focused in the RIGHT NOW situation. I trully think that we pretty much are in a spot like the one I've described. Let's hope BTW that next season Macca, Lisandro, Romero and Exequiel from the already mature but young fully explode in terms of exposure and consideration. Just for the sake of they having a better name and hopefully become trully alltimers (that in our case, logically, would require some extra effort than home base talents from the Euro Leagues).
The Europa Conference League final is starting in less than an hour. Some key players to look at. Fiorentina - Nico G. and Quarta are starting. Beltran and Infantino are on the bench Olympiacos - Hezze and Francisco Ortega are starting. Ortega has been called up in the November 2023 WCQs so he could potentially be a future potential LB for the NT.
Lionel Messi just said enough and pulled a goal like the one he did against Mexico at the World Cup.pic.twitter.com/tiqbD2fmAz— Roy Nemer (@RoyNemer) May 30, 2024
Nico Gonzalez... started well but an absolute horrow show all in all. Dude runs a lot and has a mean jump on him, but to be perfectly honest his tecnhique and understanding is just not there. As for the others, LMQ was all right I guess. Didn't notice Hezze that much and Ortega was probably the best of the bunch.
