Last game of the season. Last game of Xavi's tenure.

Thank you sir, as always for starting the threads.

I'd like to see a strong performance, and if possible, a clean sheet.

Let's send off Xavi the right way.
Let's get the future started with a win.

I may have to watch this on a recording, as I'll be working on my motorcycle.

    Força Barça.

We end our season with a win. Goals from Lewy and Fermin. Gracias, Xavi.

    This season is weird.

Because since 2018 the La Liga champion had 87, 87, 86, 86 and Barca won with 88 points last year

So this year at 85 with Barca needing one win to match those years and yet was not in the title fight

Yes. Madrid ended with 95 pts and could have gotten a few more had the title been on the line. So in hindsight, it would have been a tough task to win the title this season.

    No doubt.

The performances were in line with recent seasons, but it did feel like this side left silver and left points on the table.

On the one hand, I do believe that better on field management would have lead to better outcomes. But, I don't know how much better.

OTOH, it feels like Xavi was sacked for non-footballing reasons, and this usually leads to sh!tty overall outcomes.

And so, on to the offseason, the Euros, and Copa America.

Good point. But I think its just one of many indicators that show that La Liga has weakened quite noticeably. Madrid is certainly not 10-15 points better than their teams of recent previous seasons. And Barca weren't as good this season as the teams that got a similar number of points in the 2018-2021 period with Messi, Luisito/Griezmann, Dembele up front and Busquets highlighting the midfield. The other 18 just got weaker.
